The next behind-the-scenes video for Mafia: The Old Country is out and it offers us some of the new sound design coming in this Mafia game
It is time, again, to see how the sausage is being made for Mafia: The Old Country, as we have yet another of the behind-the-scenes videos to dig into. This time, Hangar 13 is taking us off to Sicily to see and hear how the audio design and music for the game is being brought to life. From the weapons, to the vehicles, to the city streets, we are getting a closer look at how immersive the world of this Mafia title is going to be. As if they have not been to the same level before now. But, this one is still dropping on August 8th for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, so we should get to know it all a bit better before then.
It is most likely not going to come as much of a shock for you, but the team working on Mafia: The Old Country have been capturing all of the classic sounds from the guns and cars of the era that they can get their hands on. All to make sure things sound exactly as they would if you were handling them all in real life. Nothing too surprising there, outside of having to find all of the older designs to do all of this with. That is the more impressive side of it all, since a lot of it might not exist for the general public anymore. At least now, it is all being documented and saved for the future if it needs to be used outside of a Mafia video game. That would be the hope from me on all of this. Though, I can also see the publisher wanting to hold on to all of this so everyone else has to license it out down the line. You can have a listen and watch it all go down just below in the video we have.

Did you expect anything less for a Mafia title out there, and do you expect this from all of them going forward? Will the assets be shared now that they have been recorded, and will it be hard to license them out in the future when some of these things are no longer functional? Do you like the score that it sounds like we are going to be getting here, and will it be something you will want to play in the background all the time? Take the thoughts on down to the comment section to discuss it all and everything else that we have to offer up to the world. More for Mafia: The Old Country is on the way, so please keep your eyes locked to the site and our social accounts to see and hear it all. It should be an exciting ride if the past titles are any indication of things to come.
