Let Us Start To Play In The Mud With New Footage For The Clockwork Revolution

Clockwork Revolution — Xbox Showcase 2025

The Clockwork Revolution is coming up on us with a nice big showcase of gameplay to enjoy in the mix for Clockwork Revolution

It is always weird when games are announced so far in advance and then we get nothing about them for years, just as what is going on with Clockwork Revolution. Especially when there is the irony of the game being all about a time twist out there. It is just fun, as this one fell completely off my radar after inXile Entertainment went silent on this one two years ago, and now we have a nice and long look at the game. Along with the fact that it does look like Clockwork Revolution will be playing with some timelines of things, as well as having us survive a weird steampunk universe in the mix. All great things, if only we knew when it was finally going to land on the Xbox Series X|S and PC out there. That bit of timeline is still hidden from us all, well, beyond it coming ‘soon.’

That all said, we have a lot to look at for Clockwork Revolution out of all of the showcases that have gone down recently. This one shows how the action shooter is going to give us just that, with a whole lot of humor, drama, and stealth action that might not have been known about the game when it was first revealed. Almost as if they should have held off on it all until now to give us the best timeline to dive into. Maybe it was due to the fact that Clockwork Revolution looks and feels a lot like BioShock and Dishonored in terms of gameplay, and they needed a bit more time to break those comparisons up. That or to make sure our character customization options were so vast that we will have all manner of fun trying to describe the hero who is the thief in the world and trying to save us all. We may never know, but at least we have a lot of gameplay to dig into just a little lower down, so we can speculate more.

Clockwork Revolution — Xbox Showcase 2025

Avalon, 1895. Life here ain’t for the soft-hearted. You’ve either got a gang at your back, or a knife in it. The ruthless and enigmatic Lady Ironwood rules Avalon with an iron fist, but you’ve accidentally discovered the source of her power. She’s been altering key moments in Avalon’s past, and now you have the same power to go back in time, right her wrongs, and see the butterfly effect of your actions — for better or worse.

Clockwork Revolution is a time-bending steampunk first-person RPG. After stumbling across an incredible invention that allows you to travel into the past, you discover the city you call home — the vibrant steam-powered metropolis of Avalon—has been carefully crafted through the alteration of historical events. By traveling back to key moments, your interactions and choices will have a butterfly effect on the deep, narrative-driven world and characters of Avalon, causing them to change and react in unprecedented ways.

Did you also forget that Clockwork Revolution was on the way in the mix of all of the games announced over the last two years, or did you remember it was still in the works on a different timeline? How will it work to make sure we do not compare it to the many other titles like it out there, and will that ever truly not be the case in the mix? How much will the game lean on the humor of things to get the job done, or will that be more of a feature we all enjoy in the chaos of the world we will find ourselves in? Take your time in the comment section and set the world on the correct path again. Now that it is back on the radar, we will keep up with Clockwork Revolution as best as we can out there. Unless the game takes another timeline path and vanishes for two more years. Then we cannot be held responsible.
