Cronos: The New Dawn Blasts Us With Some Stomach-Twisting New Gameplay

Cronos: The New Dawn — Gameplay Showcase

A gameplay showcase for Cronos: The New Dawn is finally here and we can see just how Cronos is going to merge things together

The footage for Cronos: The New Dawn just keeps on pumping out there as Bloober Team keeps their steamroller of a development cycle going. This time, though, we are getting some of that sweet gameplay footage to get a feeling for how this is all going to function and flow when the game lands on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this coming Fall. Most likely around October, if we are guessing, with Cronos: The New Dawn filling right into that horror slot so perfectly. More so after seeing how the new enemy merging mechanic is going to play out. Something we get to see in this new footage, so we know much by why they are using the stage of Don’t Let Them Merge in all of their marketing for the game.

We have heard the tag a lot up to now for Cronos: The New Dawn, and this new footage shows us why. The “Orphans,” as they are called, will be able to absorb any of the fallen comrades in the world that we have not fully destroyed. From there, they will grow and evolve into worse creatures for us to fight in the game, and only keep on going until we are able to destroy every last drop of their bodies. All of that through fire, before you ask. This all being done why Cronos: The New Dawn looks to use a lot of the same gameplay style of titles like Dead Space. From the camera angles, the weapon feels, and the stomping of corpses around the world. Not terrible, but I can already see many making the comparison before actually getting to play the game. This is not a huge issue, but something to take note of if you do not enjoy that kind of gaming from the past. Have a look and see if this is going to be added to your horror nights soon.

Cronos: The New Dawn — Gameplay Showcase

Bloober Team, known for its acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake, dropped a chilling new montage of gameplay today for Cronos: The New Dawn, having recently confirmed a Fall 2025 release window on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

The gameplay footage immerses viewers in Cronos’ post-apocalyptic world, highlighting brutal combat and the stomach-twisting “Merge” mechanic, which allows the horrifying creatures known as Orphans to absorb the bodies of their fallen brethren, evolving into more violent and deformed variants if not burned immediately.

Set across two time periods — between a decaying, violently warped future and 1980s Poland — players assume the role of a time-jumping “Traveler” working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with extracting and digitizing the souls of vital individuals before humanity collapses.

Cronos: The New Dawn is set for release in Fall 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and Epic, and on Mac computers with silicon later in 2025.

Do you like the look and feel of the gameplay for Cronos: The New Dawn, or is it too close to the other games for your liking? Will we have limited ways to set the bodies on fire, or will we have a mechanic that will allow for us to do it constantly, with the only hindrance being the onslaught of Orphans coming for us? How big and bad will these things get, and will there be a limit to the number of corpses they can absorb along the way? Take all of those new thoughts and fire them off in the comment section below. We will keep the fun rolling out for Cronos: The New Dawn, so please keep on rolling out to the site to see it all. I know I am excited to see how this new IP from the developer will push them forward while they still pump out all of the other remakes they have lined up.
