SPINE Shows Us A New Hardcore Mode That Will Also Be Freeflowing To The Switch 2

SPINE — Gameplay & Freeflow Combat Design

New gameplay for SPINE is here to announce SPINE is coming to the Switch 2 as well as a new mode we will be able to play the game in

The Gun Fu is going to be landing on yet another platform out there when SPINE hits, as it is now on the way to the Nintendo Switch 2. At least that is the plan for when Nekki is able to get the full game released out there on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as well. Just another option for gamers to aim for and maybe have when or if they are actually able to get that console. That is a different topic, though, and we will dig further into SPINE here. Especially as it looks like there is even more for the freeflow system of combat that the game is going to be offering up. All in the way of a new Hardcore mode that will see if we can perfect the gameplay style we are just about to see here today.

Those who have not seen much for SPINE before now, can have a solid tease at the Gun Fu style of the game we will have with Redline as we all move through the game. Moving from enemy to enemy using their weapons and the world around them to keep the action going. Redline will not have an inventory, so it will be all the things we can pick up in the flow of the combat that we get to use or just the environment around us. This is something we are going to have to perfect in SPINE if we want to take on the Hardcore mode that is coming with the game too, as it will have Redline wearing a special set of sunglasses that will break if we get hit in the game. Effectively making this mode a version of the game where we need to go through it all without being hit once. It might not sound like a hard task, but after you see the following gameplay, it looks like it might be only for the truly dedicated and perfectionists out there.

SPINE — Gameplay & Freeflow Combat Design

Nekki revealed the new trailer for the cinematic gun fu action game SPINE, coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and now targeting Nintendo Switch 2. SPINE is highly anticipated by players, with more than 400,000 wishlists across all platforms.

What Is Freeflow Gun Fu?

The trailer showcases SPINE’s Freeflow Gun Fu combat in which the protagonist, Redline, moves from enemy to enemy, parrying and disarming them, and turning their own weapons against them in seamless combos. Players can creatively use the physical environment against Redline’s opponents – crushing enemies against surfaces, throwing them from ledges, and fighting back with makeshift melee weapons for truly cinematic combat sequences that are different every time.

Hardcore Mode

The trailer also includes the first tease of SPINE’s Hardcore mode. SPINE’s cinematic twist on ‘no-hit’ gameplay sees Redline wear sunglasses, which will only remain intact if the player makes it through the game untouched by enemy attacks.

Are you going to try to add SPINE to your Switch 2 if you are able to get one or will you be aiming for the other platforms with this one? Do you like how the freeflow and use of the world is going to be the big thing or will you be complaining that you cannot carry even one item along for the ride? How rough will the Hardcore mode truly be or will it only be something that takes a little getting used to and we will all become masters in the end? Flow on down to the comment section to discuss all of that and everything else that is on the way for SPINE out there. We know there is still a lot more to see for the game, and we will make sure it is all up here and free for you to see. All you need to do is keep on checking back for all of that and everything else we have to offer up.
