A new action-horror title, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, is on the way to give us all more of that Cthulhu nightmare fuel we crave

More nightmares are on the way for us all to face with the recent announcement of Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. A new title that Big Bad Wolf is working on after a few of the other big hits they had and another title that Nacon is working to help bring to market. If you have not already figured it out by the name of the game, this one will be based around the Cthulhu mythology and horrors that all usually have. Even to the point that it looks like the Elder God might actually make its way into the game when it hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026. Yes, that is still a good bit of time away, but we do get to see just how this is all going to play out just a bit.

While we do not have any gameplay for Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss as of yet, the following video for the game shows off the mood and settings we are going to have to go through. Set in 2053, we will be taking up the role of Noah who has been tasked with finding out what happened to some deep-sea miners out there. Along the way, we will have some AI help us in our various future bits of gear. Sadly, it does look like Noah is just a human and the darkness and insanity that Cthulhu can bring will slowly take its toll. Maybe we will make it out or maybe our minds will be shattered into millions of pieces and we will be stuck forever in the depths of the ocean and our minds. Have a look at the reveal of it all here and see if it is going to hit all of those Lovecraftian vibes that seem to be making a hard showing once again in a real world full of madness.
