The release date for Outlast 2 has been set and along with it comes a bundle that brings Outlast 2 and all of the original games with it
You know what April needed this year? More horror and that is just what we are getting on the 25th as Outlast 2 has been set to officially release on that date for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. At least if you are looking for the digital version of the game from Red Barrels. There will be a physical version of Outlast 2 on the same day, but more on that in a moment as the big news here is that we have a release finally after waiting for so long to play the follow up to a truly amazing horror game before. Thankfully we didn’t need to wait until October again even though it would have made a bit more sense given the theme.
Not only do we have a release date for Outlast 2 now, but it looks like there will be a physical release for the game as well. Not just any physical release, but one that will bundle together Outlast and Outlast Whistleblower with Outlast 2. Also on April 25th but only for the PS4 and Xbox One. Sorry to you PC gamers who still want physical versions of your games in a very digital PC gaming age. I think that small subgroup won’t miss out on much as the true fans would already own the first two games and only be looking for the sequel. This is a really great IP for those into horror in any form.
Warner Bros. and Red Barrels today announced a worldwide distribution agreement for Outlast Trinity, a physical bundle that packages the upcoming Outlast 2 with Outlast and Outlast Whistleblower downloadable content. Outlast Trinity will be available on the 25th of April for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and PC, the same day Outlast 2 launches on digital platforms worldwide.
“Red Barrels has made a name for itself in the survival horror genre with the original Outlast game,” said Kevin Kebodeaux, Senior Vice President, Sales, Americas, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. “We look forward to working closely with this great group of developers to bring Outlast Trinity to gamers around the world.”
“We’ve been lucky to have such an amazing fan base, and none of this would have been possible without their support,” said Co-Founder Philippe Morin, Red Barrels. “Ever since we released Outlast in 2013, a physical version has been one of the top requests, so we’re obviously thrilled to finally give people the entire series in one bundle of terror.”
The sequel to the original critically acclaimed game, Outlast 2 is a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets. Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife Lynn, must take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. As the two follow a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe, the investigation leads them miles into the Arizona desert to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.
Are you ready to experience Outlast 2 here and glad to see the wait is almost over? Do you think it will fare well against all of the other titles coming out around the same time or will it be another cult following title? Will you be picking up the Outlast Trinity version or just going digital with it all? Let us and the world know down in the comments and then discuss. As more for Outlast 2 is revealed or shown off, we’ll of course have it here. Be sure to keep checking back in to be sure to see it all.
