Another gameplay video for Mass Effect: Andromeda has been released with more focus on combat but also how your team in Mass Effect can deliver a great one-two punch
The combat training keeps flowing here for Mass Effect: Andromeda as we have the next video in the series that BioWare is giving us to show off the game a bit more. This is the second video in the series here and this time around we get to see how the combat profiles will work in the game as well as how you can team up with your squad. We will all have to take more care with setting all of that up now as it looks like the combination of things in Mass Effect: Andromeda has jumped up from where it was before but all in a way that looks to make the game just that little bit easier for us. I’ll take it.
As it goes with the combat profiles in Mass Effect: Andromeda, it looks like we will be able to set up four different profiles that we can swap between when in the mix of things. Think of these as a form of load out with weapons and abilities we can use. As the video shows, we can have a sniper profile and then swap to close quarters profile when need be. The only issue you will run into is that you’ll only have direct access to the weapons when you switch as all of the skills will be in a cool-down state just after the swap. It does make some solo combat very dynamic though so it is good to see it here in Mass Effect.
Moving over to the squad side of things, I am sure there is more, but the video here really only showed how we could potentially set up some really cool moves and “combos” in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Of course we are going to have to keep an eye out for all of those great combinations of skills, abilities, and combat prowess for each character, but we do get to see a pretty solid use of teamwork here. Hopefully this will be expanded upon in later videos, but for the most part this is where we sit with Mass Effect: Andromeda on that.
Mass Effect: Andromeda — Combat Profiles & Squads
Welcome to the Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay series. In this video, learn all about how to customize your character, progress your skills, and command your squad. In Mass Effect: Andromeda, you are on a mission to find a new home for humanity. How far will you go?
As an extra bonus, at least for those who care about the voices you’ll hear in Mass Effect: Andromeda, there has also been another video dropped out there to show that Natalie Dormer will be portraying Dr. Lexi T’Perro. If the name sounds familiar that is because she is well-known for her role in Captain America as Pvt. Lorraine; or on Game Of Thrones as Margaery Tyrell if you need something less eclectic to place the face to voice. You can see her spouting off some dialog below and see some of her reactions to how Mass Effect: Andromeda is shaping up so far.
Mass Effect: Andromeda — Natalie Dormer As Dr Lexi T’Perro
In the newest installment of the Mass Effect series, Lexi enters the depths of outer space, stepping on board The Tempest. Natalie Dormer voices one of the game’s central characters and one of the first characters players will meet when they wake up from their 600-year cryo sleep.
Dr. Lexi is calm and compassionate with a feisty edge. Her role is to maintain crew fitness, both physical and mental, and research how the environments and situations they are exposed to throughout the Andromeda galaxy affect human biology and psychology.
How do you feel about the combat profile system we have here for Mass Effect: Andromeda? Do you think that you’ll be using it to its fullest or will you be using it only when BioWare has dictated it in the game? Do you really care about the names who voice your characters or are you just looking for the great performance? Let us know down in the comments and discuss. As more for Mass Effect: Andromeda comes out, we’ll have it here on the site for you. Keep yourself locked in here so you can catch all the new videos and updates that are coming as we get closer to the March 21st launch of the game.
