It is always weird to think of sound design when it comes to titles like A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, when it is supposed to be quiet, but it is a major factor when it comes to the gameplay. That said, we should probably have a good look at all of that and how Stormind Games is building things out to not only fit the film but make the game as engaging as possible. That would be the topic of the latest behind-the-scenes video we have from the Saber Interactive to show off the team’s work. Something that is not only impressive but also feels like it is lifted right from the universe of A Quiet Place. All to give us that perfect experience when October 17th comes around and we can play it all out on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Let us dive in.
On top of being quiet, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is going to need to have all manner of things that can make noise to give us something to overcome in the game. As if the Death Angels were not bad enough. They cannot find us if we are absolutely silent, so things like mixing materials on the landscape and littering the world with other noisemakers are what the team has gone out and done. Along with giving us some of the ways the survivors in A Quiet Place have figured out how to get around things. We will be able to lay down sand roads to walk on as well as clear paths along the way so we can sneak about. Even if it is going to feel odd to see others setting up noise traps we will have to defuse in various other ways out there. It is all fitting and you can get a little more of the detail just a little lower.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead launches Oct. 17, 2024, on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
While all of this does feel fitting for the universe of A Quiet Place, the gameplay for it does feel a little like it did for some of the SAW video games. That is, when diffusing certain things out there, it looks like we will have some kind of QTE to make sure we do not make any sound. Then there will be forced sections where we are going to need to make some levels of sound and keep track of it all so we can confuse the Death Angels a bit more. Not a terrible thing, but there is a stigma that A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is going to need to overcome out there with some of the sour tastes other games have left using similar mechanics. That could just be me, though, and all of this can feel fresh just for you having never played all of those other video games in the past.
