A new horror title, Tormenture, is announced and aims to place many back in an era where Tormenture would have thrived
Everyone is always trying to recapture what they think was the glory of the 80s and here we see Tormenture aiming to do something similar. That is, this is a new game from Croxel Studios that will be placing us back in those mental states of the past for those kids who grew up during the era. All to play a retro horror title after school only to see that things are not held only in the video game itself. Yes, as it sounds, Tormenture is a title where we play a video game about playing a video game. A video game that also seems to house another bit of danger inside. Spooky…
The core information we have for Tormenture is that it will be more of a horror puzzle game for us while the other aspects play out for our protagonist. Blending the look of the 8-bit visuals from the past with some of the newer elements to further immerse us into the game’s world too. It would not be the 80s without a solid wood-paneled basement where we are going about playing this game. That looks to be the setting while Tormenture will also have things in the room move and scare us all along the way. Have a look at the latest announcement we have for the game and see if it is going to take you back to what you remember or if it is going to be something that highlights what everyone thought the 80s were like.
Tormenture — Announcement
Billete Cohete, the incubator of young Spanish talent from The Game Kitchen, creators of The Last Door and the successful Blasphemous, is pleased to announce Tormenture, a retro horror adventure game, developed by Croxel Studios, which will soon be available on PC/Steam where it can already be added to the wishlist.
Early 80s, one ordinary day after school, you do your homework and start playing on your Limbo 2800. But something strange happens, the game is not as you remember it. Tormenture introduces you to an adventure of terror, suspense, and puzzles that pays homage to classic video games. A world of pixels and surrealism in which you’ll have to avoid getting trapped. But beware! Not all dangers lurk in the console, your room is also full of challenges. Solve puzzles and enjoy a retro story in this adventure where your choices will also be part of the game to reach one of the three available endings.
What are your thoughts on Tormenture and the setting it is going to place us all in? Is it odd that we are getting more titles that are taking us into playing a video game or is that just a small fad we are going to go through again? How rough will some of these puzzles be and will some of the scares lean into the fact we are pulled into the other video game more than the main one? Head into the comment section to talk about all of this and anything else that comes up. We are going to keep an eye on Tormenture going forward, so please keep on coming back here to see and hear about all of the updates that we can offer up for you.
