Zoochosis Takes Us Through A Day Of Our Zookeeper With Gameplay

Zoochosis — Gameplay

New gameplay for Zoochosis is out there to show us the basics of Zoochosis before the real horror starts to set in

The terror is on the way one more time with a new look at Zoochosis and some actual gameplay for it all. Not that Clapperheads has not given some of that fun already, but this is a bigger showing of what the game is going to be about when we get it on the PC. A showing of the routine we are going to have to go through in Zoochosis before all of the animals start to become horrible spider-like creatures that are slowly stalking us and looking to infect the rest of the world. Grab a slice of pizza and a beer before we kick all of this off and arachnophobes take not before diving in. We have already stated what you will be in store for here.

While it would have been fun to see how we are going to need to run for our lives in Zoochosis, this new gameplay takes us through the paces of how we are going to care for the animals. From grinding up questionable meat and food for some, cleaning up their waste, and making sure the habitat is perfect for the little guys, these are the quick basics we will have to go through. Of course, Zoochosis is also going to have the running for our lives and shooting up the various horrors with tranquilizer darts, but that is for the horror crowd. The animal lovers will be able to enjoy the first part of the game where vacuuming up gorilla poo is going to be all the rage.

Zoochosis — Gameplay

Clapperheads is thrilled to share their brand-new trailer for Zoochosis, a heart-pounding new bodycam horror simulation game coming to PC via Steam in Q2 2024.

Australia and its huge spiders… what could be worse? An unsuspecting zookeeper is about to find out!

Prepare for an unparalleled trip down your worst nightmares with Zoochosis, a horror game where every heartbeat is captured through the lens of a bodycam strapped to your chest. Embark on your maiden night shift in the zoo, as routine tasks of animal care and monitoring take a sinister turn. The once docile animals are infected and are slowly transforming into savage mutants fueled by an insatiable thirst for blood.

Identify the infected animals and concoct a cure before the contagion spreads its tendrils throughout the zoo. As the night deepens, the line between survival and demise blurs. Your resolve to save the innocent creatures will be tested and your choices will shape the outcome of this harrowing ordeal. But at what cost?

Zoochosis is a spine-chilling bodycam horror simulation game where you play a zookeeper about to start their first night shift. As you strap on your bodycam and go about your rounds, you notice strange behavior from some of the animals in the enclosures, unlike anything you have ever seen. A terrifying parasite is spreading, mutating some of the animals into grotesque versions of themselves, blood-thirsty and ready to do anything to kill you to escape. You must identify the infected animals and make vaccines to cure them before the parasite spreads out of control and to the wider zoo. Unravel the mysteries of the zoo and save the animals to save yourself, as your choices will ultimately determine your ending. Will you survive the night?

Features:

  • Become The Night Zookeeper: Interact with the animals, take care of them, choose and prepare their meals, restock, and clean up after them in the enclosure.
  • Save The Animals!: Something is terribly wrong with the animals. Can you unravel the mysteries of the zoo and save them? You must discover the cause of the infection, create a vaccine, and cure them before it’s too late.
  • Choices Matter: Which animals will you save? How will you cure them? Your decisions will be key to your survival and the ultimate ending of the story.
  • Bodycam Footage: Strap on your bodycam and capture all the terrifying events of the evening. Explore the darkest corners of the zoo with a unique perspective adding a new level of tension and horror to your quest.

I am hoping that this trailer is only focusing on the opening for Zoochosis and not the solid loop we are going to have in the game. While it is funny to see and think about, I think the horror will get lost rather quickly if we go from running from spider-giraffes to filling a slop bucket for animals and using thermo-vision to check on penguins. If I had to place a bet on it, I think all of those aspects of Zoochosis will be just parts to set us up for events we will have to do later. Like only seeing penguins with the thermals or luring the gorillas away with different foods. That would be the ideal way of it all and not just taking us out of the horror to do some mundane tasks.

Where do you sit for Zoochosis and do you think there is a lot more to the spider angle than we know? Will it be broken up with horror and then mundane too much or will that be more of a tutorial? What will keep our zookeeper from just running off or will it be a sense of duty that we are sticking around for all of this? Head to the comments to discuss all of this and everything else that comes to mind now. We are going to see more for Zoochosis for sure, so please keep on checking back for those updates and the many others we have on the way in the coming weeks.
