The First Clan Has Hit The Streets Of Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2

Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 — Clan Reveal: Brujah

The first playable vampire clan is revealed for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 to get the rabble roused out there

The clans are starting to finally come out for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, and here we go with the first one out there. Even if The Chinese Room is not fully ready to give us all full gameplay for the game as of yet, we get to know a little about how we might be playing. The clans of Vampire: The Masquerade do help dictate the kind of playstyle of the character in the tabletop version, and it sounds like it will do that here for Phyre in this one too. Now, we get to take in the fact that one of the four playable clans in the game will be the Brujah. Not something your casual fan might be able to get excited about as of yet, but worth knowing as we dive into what all of that means.

The reveal we have for this vampire clan is not much and just a very short video to take in. Something you can see just a bit lower down. What is highlighted here for the clan, though, is that it looks like they are going to lean into the melee combat side of things with them. This is something they are usually stereotyped with in the lore of Vampire: The Masquerade, so it is fitting. Even if that was generally a newer thing and not always an Elder thing in the lore of it all. That is a whole two-hour video essay on all of that, so we will just slip right by that and see that we will have the Rabble in the mix and state that it looks like Phyre is embracing, pun intended, the style of the modern nights as well. Have a look if you have not already made that jump to the video already.

Who Are The Brujah?

Brujah is the learned clan, the clan of radicals, the clan commonly misjudged as punks looking for trouble, the Brujah are guided by passion and dedication to an ideal. And if they have the supernatural strength to back that passion up, who are you to argue? Rebellion unites their blood, whether that rebellion is of the subtle lend me your ears kind or the fists out, fire in the streets sack of Rome kind is down to the individual.

Playing A Brujah In Bloodlines 2

If you’re a player who leaves the shadows to the cowards, knows the frontline is where the fun is, and idealistically rebels against power, Brujah is your clan.

In Bloodlines 2, Clan Brujah will offer a brutal melee playstyle with its abilities (in Vampire: The Masquerade, known as Disciplines) getting you into the fray and rewarding you for staying there. Exemplified in the video, our Brujah uses charge to gain a burst of momentum, grab an enemy, drag them with you and body slam them into a wall. Don’t assume you’re limited to charging just one enemy either. In early 2024, we’ll be back with a complete list of Brujah discipline powers you will be able to use in the game.

As I called it, I had a feeling the Brujah would be one of the base clans we would get to play in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2. They are usually the “starter” character most are pushed toward when playing the tabletop or LARP version of the IP, so it is an easy entry point. It also follows that they would be the melee fighters of it all with their Disciplines giving them super speed and strength from the start. I do hope that they do lean into the political and social aspects of the clan too so we are not pigeonholed if we want to play the clan but do not always want to answer with firsts. If the rest of my predictions on the vampire clans are correct, that most likely will not be the case, but only time will tell as they slowly drop these updates out there as we get closer to 2024 and the full release of it all.

Did you not expect to see this vampire clan added into Bloodlines 2 or is it a basic one that will be in most titles out there? Will they lean into the other aspects of the clan or will it all boil down to them being the brutes and only flying into rage when needed? What do you think will be the next clan and will our predictions here be about right for it all? Head into the comment section to discuss all of this and toss out your own predictions for it all too. There is going to be a whole lot more for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, so please keep on checking back here for all of those updates and the many others we have in the pipeline. You should not be let down by any of it. Unless they opt to screw over the fans one more time as they did with us in the past.
