Mortal Kombat 1 Will Have Even More Blood Flowing In The Game Now

Mortal Kombat 1 — Nitara

One more blast from the Mortal Kombat past is here to expand the roster of Mortal Kombat 1 just a bit more

This seems to be a big week for vampires, as now we have the announcement that Nitara is coming in with Mortal Kombat 1 on September 19th. You read that correctly. NetherRealm Studios is dropping the Outworld Vampire into the fight from so long ago and with all manner of updates that we should be looking for. Although, at this point, it feels like they were just looking to remake Mortal Kombat: Deception for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC instead. I jest, but it does feel like the roster is mostly coming from that title and various others that were not all that well-received.

You can see Nitara in action in the following trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, but there is another announcement to have just before that. That being that Megan Fox is here to bring the voice for the character this time around. It is unclear if it is because she has always been a massive Mortal Kombat fan or just that the team wanted to have another big name in the game to help sell us all on it. Not that they really needed to do that. Especially since this video, to me at least, makes it feel very bland and basic when it comes to the voice work on this character. Maybe this will be different when the game launches, but the trailer does not sell me on it yet.

Mortal Kombat 1 — Nitara

After almost 17 years, the Vampire of Outworld has graced us with her presence. Megan Fox brings Nitara back to life.

It’s In Our Blood. Discover a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe created by Fire God Liu Kang. Mortal Kombat 1 ushers in a new era of the iconic franchise with a new fighting system, game modes, and Fatalities!

Given that we are just under two weeks out from the launch of Mortal Kombat 1, I did not think we would be seeing any more of the core roster announced here. Maybe this means we will have a few more just before the official launch and into the DLC releases. Even if it does feel a little more on the basic side and a ploy to boost sales just before the launch. Especially since the voice would be unnoticeable if it was not put in our faces here for Mortal Kombat 1. Listen again to the character talk and tell me you would be able to tell it is Megan Fox without it being front and center here. It just feels like they are slapping a face on the game now, which could be a little concerning.

Will this inclusion make you more or less likely to give Mortal Kombat 1 a purchase out there? Do you also feel like this voice work is a little lackluster when compared to everything else we have had so far? Do you remember this character from so long ago or did it feel like a new one with how long it has been? Fight your way into the comment section and discuss all of it as you so want to. We will share more for Mortal Kombat 1 as we get it all, so please keep on checking back for all of that and everything else we have to offer up along the way. I am sure there will be more just before the launch.
