The Lin Kuei are on display for Mortal Kombat 1 as we see more of the Mortal Kombat characters showing up in this upcoming title
The Kombat Kasts have begun and we are getting more and more for Mortal Kombat 1 as we head toward the September 19th release date. This time not only with NetherRealm Studios offering up a little more for the gameplay, but diving into the new Lin Kuei we will be experiencing in the game too. Given how things have been shaken up for Mortal Kombat in this one, it makes sense. It also makes sense that we are about to see a few more characters announced as fighters and Kameo characters too. All of this and more as we wait for the game to finally hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. Hold onto your spines for now.
So, we all knew that Sub Zero and Scorpion were going to have a little bit of a change for Mortal Kombat 1. We get a little more of that in the latest trailer for the game. Now, though, we also get to see Smoke, Rain, and Frost get their debut along with Cyrax and Sektor getting shown off. The last two look more like Kameo-only characters with Rain and Smoke being full-on fighters we can select from in the game. It also looks as if Frost will be a fully playable character too in Mortal Kombat 1, but that could be hopeful thoughts more than anything since it doesn’t look like we have full gameplay for the character here. That and all of the cyborgs looking to be Kameo characters more than anything.
It is interesting to see that the Lin Kuei are out for the conquering of Earthrealm in Mortal Kombat 1 and might be more of the antagonists in the game. Given how things normally run, though, they could all just be pawns in the larger attack that someone else is setting up. Even if we have not fully met the main villain of the game as of yet. At least officially. Even if many of the past ones are coming back in from the Mortal Kombat of yore to give us all another hard time out there. Just as the way it will be to make sure all of these titles keep flowing out to us.

Now that we have more of the characters to look at for Mortal Kombat 1, we can have a little more of a taste of Scorpion and Johnny Cage in the game. Things have been swapped up a bit for them, as expected, even with Scorpion, more or less, having the same moves and style of fighting. The interesting part here is that Johnny has a few things that others do not in the mix. Like that, his taunting can build up an extra EX meter in the mix. That and he can shut down others in Mortal Kombat from having the ability to pull off throws. An interesting twist for it all and it does make each of the characters feel a little more unique than anything.

Do you like how Scorpion has been altered here and that some of the characters will have extra and unique things they can pull off too? Take to the comment section and discuss all of this out there. We will share more for Mortal Kombat 1 as we get it all, so please keep checking in for all of those updates and everything else we can share along the way.
