The next Cyberpunk 2077 expansion is offering up more famous faces into the Cyberpunk 2077 line out there
The next expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is still in the works and on its way to us all. Thankfully, the latest update we have for it all is not a delay. In fact, this is a bit of bigger news from CD Projekt RED for this expansion and to maybe entice more players back in. Here we go with the announcement that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be adding another famous face to bring some of the characters to life. This one is the face of Idris Elba to give us Solomon Reed to drive the fight forward and give Johnny and V the information to complete all of the tasks. As long as this trailer is giving us all what we should be expecting when it drops on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Famous faces are nice and all, but that should not be the selling point for Cyberpunk 2077 and the upcoming expansion. This is where the new looks at Dogtown in Night City and some of the new additions we will have in the mix. One of them feels like it could be a way to further obfuscate our appearance when running around the Cyberpunk city. That is how I am reading the new mod that is getting placed on the character here. Given that it has always been an FPS title, it should be easy to assume this is something going on our faces instead. As long as the story plays out the same as the trailer we have here to hold us out until the release date is set for it all.
Cyberpunk 2077 — Phantom Liberty Teaser #2
CD Projekt RED presented a brand new teaser trailer for Phantom Liberty, the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 spy-thriller expansion, at The Game Awards 2022. The teaser features all new in-game and gameplay footage, and the reveal of a new cast member.
The teaser shown at the annual awards gala gives players an all-new look at Night City’s Dogtown, where the expansion will be primarily set, as well as flashes of gameplay and brand-new additions. The teaser also reveals new characters, chief among them Solomon Reed.
Played by actor Idris Elba (Luther, Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, The Suicide Squad), who’s joining the cast of Phantom Liberty alongside Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, Reed is a veteran New United States of America agent, and apparently, the only person players can trust to help them fulfill an impossible mission of espionage and survival. Following the teaser’s climax, the actor appeared in a special video message directed at the audience and gamers worldwide, commenting on the character of Reed and his role in Phantom Liberty’s story.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023, with an exact release date and pricing to be revealed.
