The Texas Chain Saw Massacre drops out more of those collectible cards for the Texas Slaughter Family out there
After getting a few of them teased out there before, we have a few more of those playing cards for the killers in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. In fact, here we go with the rest of the Slaughter Family in the game that Gun Interactive is getting together for us. Maybe not the whole family, but we have three new and major killers in the mix with the other two new characters we have had before. All so they can better terrorize us in the game and the fictional version of Texas that is being made. Even if most of them feel like they are real humans you can run into and not just characters coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023. If you do not want to wait for that kind of horror in your life.
These new looks for the Texas family here offer up all of the things we have been promised before. Each character has some of their basic stats and flavor text out there to let us all know a little more about whom we will be controlling or running from. It also has a bit more on the motivations of these characters too. For those looking to have something more on the gameplay side, you can take note of the three stats at the bottom of the cards here. These are the Savagery, Harvesting, and Endurance bits in there. These will be only for the killers in the game, but it does allude to the bonuses and weaknesses they will have in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. If I had to guess, they would be Strength, Stealth, and Stamina in the mix. Even if those feel like they would also link over to the survivors in the game too. We will just have to wait and see for now.
After debuting retro character cards for their cast of Victims, Gun Interactive has this week shared a series of similar cards for the Slaughter Family, the murderous relatives set to battle the Victims in head-to-head asymmetrical multiplayer action when The Texas Chain Saw Massacre launches in 2023. Much like their last batch of 70’s-inspired cards, the new images detail the attributes and special abilities of each character, providing a glimpse into their strengths, weaknesses, and play style. Ranging from familiar faces like the classic 1974 film’s treacherous Hitchhiker to brand-new killers like ex-cultist Sissy, the cards can help prime players to pick favorites and devise strategies well ahead of the game’s release.
In addition to sharing unique abilities and attributes, every card also reveals key information about each character’s background and personality. It won’t surprise fans of the original film to learn that the Hitchhiker, for example, is described as an “artist of the macabre”, relentlessly pursuing his victims with his trusty knife and boasting the highest Endurance level of the entire family.
Unlike their Victims, the Slaughter Family have only three attributes noted on their character cards: Savagery, Harvesting, and Endurance.
Have you ever run into any of these kinds of characters in real life or is this too over-the-top for the randoms that live in Texas? Will there be more than these five killers in the game or will this be our selection from the start with the rest of the family just in the background? Do you think these stats link directly or will they only be for these cards and the rest will be obfuscated behind the scenes of the core game? Tell us all of your thoughts on this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish. I know we will have more for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, so please keep checking in for all of that and much more on the site as we wrap things up for the year.
