Black Myth: Wukong Smashes Us With A Whole Lot Of New Gameplay

Black Myth: Wukong — Unreal Engine 5 Gameplay

New gameplay for Black Myth: Wukong is out there with it highlighting how Black Myth will be using the Unreal 5 Engine

We might have to wait a while between each new bit of gameplay for Black Myth: Wukong, but each time, it is overly impressive. That just happens to be what we have here once again with Game Science giving us a look at the game once more and in the view of the Unreal 5 Engine and the capabilities it is offering up for developers. That has been something impressive from the jump with all of the tech demos before now, and it looks like Black Myth will be showing us all just a bit more. Well, a whole lot more with the over twelve minutes of footage we have that all comes from the gameplay or in-engine visuals that we can expect when it comes to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023. A long wait, sure, but it is looking like it will be fully worth it.

The video is going to say a lot more about how amazing Black Myth is looking than I could ever convey. I would like to point out a few things that seem to be highlighting more and more though, and that is the particle effects that in the world and the fine detail that the engine can get down to for the meshes out there. Specifically, when you watch the fight in the snow and how not only his movement in the snow shifts things, but also when the weapon randomly dips in too. Even the special attacks in Black Myth alter things as the ring of fire does when it is dropped down. It is not something that fades away and lends to a deeper immersion into the world when you see it all persist the whole time. Even during the closing montage where other particles and atoms are used to swirl in, it looks like it will use this aspect of the engine to its fullest.
