An announcement for the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection is here and brings two more Hitman titles into the HD ring very soon
Talk about an announcement that seems out of nowhere as we now have word that we are getting a Hitman HD Enhanced Collection for the PS4 and Xbox One. Not only getting it, but it will be bringing two more titles from IO Interactive into the HD arena on January 11th. That is one hells of a turnaround there, especially given that Warner Bros. just brought us the release of Hitman 2 not too long ago. One would have thought that we would keep seeing that get updated more and more besides having other options in the franchise to move right along to. At least if you missed out on the older consoles and/or want to play these titles again in a better way.
While this is called a Collection, it is not all of the titles in the franchise but two specific ones in the mix. Blood Money and Absolution to be specific and some of the better in the Hitman franchise for me. At least when I remove out the episodic nature of the previous two that we have had out here. At least we will now have the option to replay these two titles in full 4K and 60 FPS with all of the other basics that come along with that. Better textures, controls, and you know the rest. Not that these things were terrible before, but at least they are brought up to the rest of the Hitman franchise as it stands.
Today we’re happy and excited to announce Hitman HD Enhanced Collection, a compilation of two classic Hitman titles remastered in 4K resolution: Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution. It will be available digitally January 11, 2019, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Both games can be played in 4K resolution and 60 fps, including many other improvements that bring these two classic titles into 2019 with the attention and love that they deserve.
Hitman HD Enhanced Collection will feature:
-
- 4K visuals at 60 frames per second
- Increased texture resolution
- Upgraded texture formats
- Super-sampling
- Upscale support
- Heightened shadow map and mirror resolutions
- Improved lighting
- Updated controls for a more fluid experience
Did you expect to hear about the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection this close to the release of Hitman 2 or did you expect it to be further down the line? Did you have a chance to play these titles before or will this be the first time you have the option to do so? How do you think these will hold up when mixed with the better graphics the consoles can put out now? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If there is more on this or the franchise, we will have the updates for you here. Just be sure to keep sneaking a peek back here to stay as up to date as possible.
