A new video for Degrees Of Separation is here to take us through the basics of Degrees Of Separation and how we can play the game co-op or solo
You may have heard a lot about Degrees Of Separation, and seen a little bit before now, but now we are here with the first gameplay out there to show off just what we can expect from this game when it lands on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on February 14th. It has been a long time coming and Moondrop has not been able to give us too much to date. We kind of knew about the two main characters and how this would be a co-op platformer of sorts. At least for those paying attention to Degrees Of Separation over the time since it was announced. Now is the time to dive in and see just how that will be and how you will be able to play it all solo if you cannot find anyone else to join you. Sad times given the release date…
The basics of Degrees Of Separation is that one character brings in a world of heat and the other a world of cold. This affects the environment and the two must work together to make it through the world and solve puzzles. It looks to start off with a split-screen setup, for the powers at least, and then through the game, it will shift into other ways to manipulate everything. The is not much detail on that as of yet for Degrees Of Separation, but you can kind of see it in action down in the new video here. Given that we are also told there will be follow up videos on the story and such, I am going to guess that we will see more of the finer details as we lead into launch. Or just when we play the game.
Degrees Of Separation — Features
Enter a stunningly beautiful world, filled with environment-based puzzle platforming and a story by Chris Avellone.
Follow the journey of Ember and Rime, two souls empowered with the ability to manipulate the environment around them while growing ever closer to one another. Harness the powers of hot and cold to solve environmental puzzles and interact with a gorgeously realized, non-linear world as you unlock Ember and Rime’s potential.
Developed with both solo and co-op gameplay in mind, Ember and Rime’s contrasting abilities require you to consider the actions of your partner just as much as your own. Individually — with Ember’s mastery of heat and Rime’s control of cold — their unique affinities allow them to traverse the world in very different ways. Together, however, their powers take on an even greater impact, blending to create controllable gusts of wind, frozen rivers, or platforms where there previously were none.
Experience a compelling, emotion-driven story by acclaimed fantasy writer Chris Avellone and narrated by voice actress Kira Buckland, and engage in single-player and cooperative 2D platforming gameplay when Degrees Of Separation launches on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) on February 14, 2019 for $19.99.
