Another showing of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is out there and this one shows just how Hellblade will be changing real-time cinematography for the better
Even though there is still no release date for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice I do have to say that with each small update we get I am overly impressed with what the team over there is getting up to. Even if Ninja Theory never brought the game to market, all of the advancements in how cinematic games can be made they are bringing would be worth it. Especial after seeing a more advanced version of Hellblade‘s real-time cinematic capturing software we are truly in a new age. To put it shortly it looks like we can now go from motion capture to final edit in a matter of minutes instead of weeks and months. Shocking right?
As you will see below, there was a new showing of the motion capture technology that Epic Games, Cubic Motion, and 3Lateral built as in use for Hellblade here. We saw a nice video of it back at GDC this year but it looks like a few more bells and whistles, as well as a new scene, were put together to show off at Siggraph. If you have yet to be impressed here for the game, then get ready to be impressed. Below you will see just how they set up the actress and real-time capture and edit everything in engine to build a full scene. That may be a bit confusing to here but the true proof is in the video below.
If you don’t care to see how everything was captured and shot for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice you can skip ahead to the 4:17 point in the video to see the new bits for the game. Just know that all of this was captured live on stage in a matter of minutes before being able to be played out in engine. Then maybe you’ll want to go back and see just how it was all done. I know my jaw has hit the floor multiple times here.

What are your thoughts on what you just saw for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice here? Do you think this will truly revolutionize the way we make these kinds of games or will it just be a gimmick here for this one? Are you even interested in seeing how games are made or do you just want to know when you are going to get to play the damned thing? Let us know and feel free to discuss in the comments below. As with all things Hellblade be sure to stay right here as we will keep bring you more as it all comes. Hopefully a release date soon.
