A new collection, Kingdom Hearts — The Story So Far, has been announced and it will obviously tell you the full story of Kingdom Hearts… so far
I am going to be honest here, I saw this coming and now it is here as we have the Kingdom Hearts — The Story So Far collection announced and coming to PS4 on October 30th. As you most likely guessed too, it is a version of the franchise where Square Enix has placed all of the titles and story in the franchise so far to get us all ready for the next big title in the franchise. We have had something like this already but required two different purchases but now we have an option to get all of the Kingdom Hearts titles and/or story bits in one place. Even if some of them are just cinematics and movies from other titles mixed in instead of the full video games.
It is nice to see that we will get the official story for the Kingdom Hearts franchise in one spot. That is why I am guessing that we only have movies and fragments from a few of the smaller titles in the franchise. We will finally have official cannon before Kingdom Hearts III. I think it is a huge miss to not launch this on the Xbox One given that this has been a PlayStation specific franchise for so long and will be making the full leap with the third big title. That is the fan base you would want to cater to so they have a larger reason to pick it up, but what do I know here? I am sure there is a full reason for that though.
Square Enix and Disney announced Kingdom Hearts — The Story So Far, a brand-new collection that takes players through nine chapters of the beloved Kingdom Hearts series.
In Kingdom Hearts — The Story So Far, Keyblade wielders can relive the magical adventures of Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, and friends as they attempt to stop the Heartless invasion that threatens their universe. Fans will travel to iconic Disney locales and join forces with beloved Disney and Final Fantasy characters in order to fight back against the threat of darkness and bring back light to all worlds.
The compilation includes the following games:
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX
- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain Of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
- Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics)
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
- Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
- Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep — A fragmentary passage
- Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover (Movie)
Did you see the Kingdom Hearts — The Story So Far collection coming or did you think that we had it when it was split into two different titles? Is it curious to see that it is not heading to the Xbox One at this point or does it make sense to you? When do you think that we will see a full cinematic version of the franchise without the gameplay mixed in so we can get a true story? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. For all things Kingdom Hearts, be sure to keep coming back here. We will have it all for you as it comes out.
