A new enemy for GTFO is revealed and it makes hunting in the shadows of GTFO even more deadly for us to do in the game
Another enemy type is here out of the depths of GTFO for us to fear as it comes from many of the aspects of the game that will add to the horror. It is not rare for horror style games to use shadows to build up fear and terror, but it looks like 10 Chambers Collective has gone one-step further to make them a physical threat as well. It may not sound like the craziest of monsters or enemies to be out there, but stick with me here as GTFO seems to take it even further that we could have thought. It could only get worse as we wait until sometime this year for it to hit the PC. For now, though, let us look at this new monster and how it will be handled in the game.
As you will see in the following new trailer for GTFO, the Shadow creatures hunt in the darkness and are generally invisible until they are hit with some kind of light source. Be it surrounding lights or our own flashlight, it will make them appear and feel like they are jumping out of nowhere. It also looks like the auto turrets set up will be able to track and hunt them in general so there is that saving grace. Given their movement and look though I can easily see them being the terrors that haunt our dreams in GTFO as well as move into real-world bleeding. Who has not seen something like this in before turning on the lights once or twice?
GTFO — New Enemy Reveal (Shadow)
The monster can only be made out when it’s moving in relation to the surrounding light sources — such as a player’s flashlight. This makes it almost impossible to show the shadow enemy in a static screenshot, which is why the press material will only contain media showing it in motion.
GTFO is a terrifying 4 player co-op game for hardcore FPS players, brought to you by the game designer behind the PAYDAY franchise. Players get to play as a team of scavengers, forced to explore and extract valuable artifacts from a vast underground complex that has been overrun by horrifying monsters. Gather weapons, tools, and resources to help you survive — and work to unearth the answers about your past and how to escape. GTFO is set to be released 2018.
What do you think about these shadows for GTFO that we have here? Do you agree that they look like they could be a true terror in the game or will they be something easy accounted for with automation? What do you think about the look of them and the humanoid or animal look they have? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss.
