Brand new screenshots for Fear The Wolves have dropped in on us to give us a look at some of the locations and horrors Fear The Wolves will hold
Here we go with just a little more to look at for Fear The Wolves today as some new screenshots have dropped for the game. Nothing too spectacular, but that all seems to be just to be a tease as Vostok Games should have more for us out at E3 this year. That is as long as Fear The Wolves is not slapped with down by other Battle Royale titles out there on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Given the different setting and mechanics we will see here for the game, as claimed by Focus Home Interactive, I have faith that will not happen. Nonetheless, here we go with just a bit more to look at for the game.
I do mean just a bit as they are mostly environmental shots for Fear The Wolves to show off the different locations we will be gunning down the other 99 players in the match so we can come out on top. We do get a nice look at some of the maps though and how the radiation of the area can cause us to have to change our tactics real quick. That and the other radioactive creatures out there that will be hunting us too. If you look close you can see some of those wolves that appear in Fear The Wolves‘ title. Unless that is a reference to the fact you can play a match as a “lone wolf” and not the fact that there will be monstrous wolves running around. I think we really just need gameplay at this point. That is what E3 is for though…
Survive the post-apocalyptic danger zone of Fear The Wolves, the upcoming competitive Battle Royale FPS by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R veterans, Vostok Games. The game drops players, in squads or as lone wolves, into the oppressive environments of a radiation-ravaged Chernobyl. The classic Battle Royale mode forces them to fight to be the last man standing out of 100 fighters, while another to-be-unveiled mode brings an exciting twist to the genre.
To secure the top spot, players will need to worry about more than just other survivors. Across the hostile wastes, everyone is threatened by deadly anomalies and the dynamically-changing weather. With time wearing on and the day turning to dusk, survivors are forced to constantly adapt their strategies. Protective gear allows players to explore dangerous off-limit radioactive zones inaccessible to less-equipped opponents – but filled with powerful loot. All the while, the howls of mutated creatures echo through the wasteland…
Further breaking the mold of the genre, every game is made truly unique by the irregular and unpredictable spread of deadly radiation, which organically closes in on players with different stages of toxicity. Safety is rarely certain, and adept players will need to read the environment to determine when it is no longer wise to remain in an area. Between all this, other players, tight shooting mechanics, and an arsenal of guns and melee weapons at your disposal, no two matches are the same.
These new screenshots showcase some of the locales players will visit while scavenging for weapons and hunting other players, including factories, power plants, small towns, and villages. There is also an exclusive first look at the game’s mutant wolves – fearsome creatures that stalk the perimeters of radioactive zones, attacking players in packs and proving formidable foes for anyone not adequately armed.
Have these changed your thoughts on Fear The Wolves as of yet or do you need more substance to make that final call? Do you think that the game will make it “better” to run as a lone wolf in a match or will it be more difficult as it always is? What other creatures do you think will be out there in the game or will the other players always be the larger threat in every match? Let us have all of those ideas and thoughts down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When we learn anything further for Fear The Wolves, we will have it all here on the site. Just be sure to keep checking back in to keep up to date on it all.
