The Jonah Is Out There In The Streets Of Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 — Urban Legend The Jonah

A new urban legend for Dying Light 2 is here to build more into the growing world that is Dying Light with a new story

The stories keep flowing out there for Dying Light 2 to give us more substance to the game’s world and get us all ready for that February 4th release that is quickly coming up. Not that we will not have loads of that in the final build of the game, but Techland is making sure that this feels like a lived-in world and not one just cobbled together so we have reasons to parkour from zombies. I have a feeling that this is what was causing those delays and issues in the past for Dying Light 2, and I am all for it as of now. More so when we get some fun little stories like these Urban Legends that the people tell about the world. I just hope that we get them to show up in a tangible form in the final build of the game and not just a marketing trick to help sell some titles out there.

The reason I am hoping for this in Dying Light 2 all comes down to the latest one called “The Jonah.” It is an interesting tale on how there is one person out there that always seems to bring some form of calamity to the groups that help them out, even if it is against their will. In this instance, it is a red-bearded individual that seems to always need help. Those that help quickly find out why they should not have as the infected swarm in or take advantage of the situation. From the looks of it, it is not because “The Jonah” is a traitor to their kind, but just bares that bad luck where they go in the world of Dying Light. It will be interesting to see and hear if this makes it into the final game. All so we can be wary of those with the same beard and descriptions we have here. Maybe it could just be an urban legend in the game or maybe it will bear some mechanics with it.

It’s dark and monsters roam the streets of The City. But in the safety of the UV rays, survivors gather and listen to the Storyteller telling them the story of “The Jonah”.

Do you suspect that this will all just be fun marketing for Dying Light 2 and not much else or will it have some kind of gameplay element in the game? Could these be more tales we hear in the background during the game or could they all be part of a bigger mission out there that we do not see yet? Could all of these stories be more of the world-building that the team could do with the various delays for the core title? Give us all of that feedback and more down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there is anything more for Dying Light 2, and we know there will be, it will be on the site for you. Just be sure to keep an eye here for all of that and much more.
