The Expanse: A Telltale Series Had A Bonus Archangel At SDCC This Year

The Expanse: A Telltale Series — Archangel Bonus Episode

The panel for The Expanse: A Telltale Series went down at SDCC and we are getting a bonus episode for The Expanse after it launches

Not everyone was able to make it out for SDCC this year and that means that not everyone was able to make it out to the panel for The Expanse: A Telltale Series. We heard your cries and so did Telltale Games and Deck Nine. Especially when it comes to the fact that we all want to see more for The Expanse and now we will in the game too. At least, after it launches on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on July 27th. Among so many other things talked about during the panel, though, we have a new chapter coming that will dive further into another character’s story and what led them down the path they did in the IP in the long run.

This new expansion, slated for Fall of 2023, for The Expanse: A Telltale Series is titled Archangel and will dive further into Chrisjen Avasarala’s character and a pivotal scene that shaped some of the stories that took place in all of the other forms of media out there. If we had more to say for it all, it sounds like it might spoil things for those looking to experience the game and story for The Expanse before it all drops out there, so we will leave it at that. Not to mention that is all we have to go on from the trailer and the little bit of update we had during the SDCC panel this year. Shohreh Aghdashloo is coming back to voice and act the character out, so we have that also to look forward to at the very least or until the episodes start flowing and we have much more to dive into for the game.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series — Archangel Bonus Episode

Chrisjen Avasarala has the weight of worlds on her shoulders as she navigates threats to Earth and political opponents seeking to take her down, all while managing family drama on a day that will change her life forever.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series launches July 27th for Epic Game Store, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

I am sure that is not enough for you when it comes to The Expanse: A Telltale Series, so here we go with the main event that took place over the course of the convention. The full panel is here for you to watch and enjoy, even if it is not the same feeling as being on site. We get a little more from behind the scenes on how the game was built for us all and how it plays into the larger bits of The Expanse, along with some fun little gameplay mixed in too. There is talk about there being collectibles in the game, and those will alter the story and character interactions along the way. That is something we have not seen much of from the teams involved, so that will be a fun thing to keep in the back of our minds when it comes to playing out each episode. Even with the in-game visuals that will show us how many we have picked up along the way too.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series — San Diego Comic Con 2023 Panel

Join Game Director Frost and Cinematics Director Alistair for our San Diego Comic-Con 2023 panel – Building The Expanse: A Telltale Series.

Hosted by Andrea Rene, you’ll hear how the game came together, how it stayed faithful to the world of The Expanse, and how bloodthirsty Comic Con audiences are.

Plus, you’ll get to experience the live reveal of the Archangel bonus episode starring Chrisjen Avasarala and get a special message from Drummer herself; Cara Gee!

It was definitely a blast getting to hear and see all of the teams behind The Expanse: A Telltale Series come together and show off what we will be starting up here this week. More so when you see how much fun the actors have had bringing these characters to life and entertaining us all over the years. One can really feel that come through in all of this and it would be nice to keep seeing that. This is why it was good to see that those involved were also stepping aside to help make sure we all pay these heroes out there so we can keep enjoying things like The Expanse in more forms than just books. I felt like I needed to add this in as the panelists do leave out the reasons why the performers did not show up for the panels. A weird thing to leave out, but I hope they are all striking and working toward getting their proper compensation for the art we all hold so dear.

Are you excited to see more about how the story of The Expanse kicked off with these prequel episodes of games? How do you think the new bonus story will work into the main narrative of the game or will it just be another story that uses the same engine and assets built? Would you cut off someone’s leg to save the supplies or will you save their leg at the cost of some salvage? Head to the comment section and let all of the conversation go wild down there. We will keep offering up what we can for The Expanse: A Telltale Series and the various other updates out of SDCC this year, so please keep a close eye on the site for all of that. We are just now getting the ball in full momentum to keep us all caught up.
