The Animus Will Soon Be Under Your Control In Assassin’s Creed Origins

Assassin’s Creed Origins — Animus Control Panel

A new update for Assassin’s Creed Origins on the PC is coming to let you tweak and change gameplay aspects of Assassin’s Creed Origins via the Animus

In a world like Assassin’s Creed Origins has set, I am talking the “real world” and not the “fake world” here; it makes sense that some of the games mechanics and aspects should be able to be broken. Not that it is a huge secret but one of the aspects of the franchise that we have to deal with is the fact that we are playing as someone who is plugging into a computer and playing as someone else. This has been the case since Ubisoft brought us the first Assassin’s Creed and shattered minds with what was going on. Given that fact, it has always boggled my mind that there was not a way to tweak the world inside of the Animus as it is just a computer simulation. Gameplay reasons I get, but story-wise it never made full sense as it should be possible.

Jump forward to Assassin’s Creed Origins now, it looks like those options are now coming as we are getting an Animus Control Panel DLC added in to do just all of that. At least for those gamers on the PC side of things as it does not look like it will be hitting the console versions of the game. Not a huge issue since it will be a FREE DLC out there. I am going to guess that the reason it will not be hitting PS4 or Xbox One has to come with all of the issues that the systems have with Modding games. This new add-on is exactly that and it is a lot easier to handle on the PC side of things at the end of the day.

All of that said, just what will this DLC bring to Assassin’s Creed Origins? Well, it looks like we are going to have seventy different options to go through and tweak the game to make it easier, harder, wackier, or closer to the older titles. Did you miss being able to always one-hit kill with a stealth assassination? You can turn that on and play the game that way. Did you think the number of hippos Bayek could tame was on the low side? Change that slider and allow for a horde of them to romp around with you. Do you think that the enemies are not scaled enough for your abilities and level in Assassin’s Creed Origins? Change all of that to make it harder to put them all down. There is even a God Mode for those out there who just want to experience all of the stories in the world without the constant fear of dying and needing to restart.

There is no mention of it for this update just yet, but I am going to assume this will deactivate all of the achievements for Assassin’s Creed Origins while playing with any of the tweaks on. It makes sense as that is how it usually is. Ubisoft has not stated anything directly on it, but I think it is safe to assume. They also never stated that it will not come to consoles either as of yet. Given how these tweaks work, it is still a possibility. It just means that there will need to be a lot of work done on the console certification side of things before it ever comes to Assassin’s Creed Origins on the consoles. It could happen, just not any time real soon if it all works as we have seen in the past.

What do you think about this new update coming to Assassin’s Creed Origins and what it will allow? Were you one of the players out there thinking or hoping for changes like this or was the game just fine without them? Do you think that it will ever make it over to the console side of things or will it be a PC only update for all time? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. As we get more on Assassin’s Creed Origins or the franchise in general, we will have it here on the site. Just keep checking back in to see and hear it all.
