Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Is Getting Some Help For The PC Version

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider — Teaser Trailer

A new partnership is here for Shadow Of The Tomb Raider and it will make sure that PC gamers have the best experience they can have for the upcoming Tomb Raider title

We may have just had the first semi-showing of Shadow Of The Tomb Raider last week, but here we are yet again to have a bit of information we did not get last week. It is nothing in terms of story, new gameplay, or even a direct look at the game from Square Enix. Sad, I know. What we do have here is official word that the PC version of Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is not going to be just a port over from the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. That and also to reiterate that all versions of the game will be hitting the market on September 14th. It seems like a weird thing to have to say, but they want us to know that this Eidos-Montréal title will be top-notch no matter where we are playing the game.

All of that said, what we do have word on here is that NVIDIA is lending some of its PC skills and knowledge over to help make sure that Shadow Of The Tomb Raider launches as optimized as possible for PC gamers. In fact, Nixxes Software will be handling the performance optimizations as they have on other titles in the past and that this title will be perfected for use with the GeForce GTX 10-series GPUs. Think back to the other PC versions or definitive editions of the modern Tomb Raider titles and you will know the quality of work that we will see in the end. More or less, do not expect any downgrading on the PC version of the game unless you personally do not have a system that can run the game at top performance. Then the blame is all on you.

Square Enix, Eidos-Montréal, and Crystal Dynamics today announced they will be working with NVIDIA to develop the PC version of Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, the latest entry in the critically acclaimed and award-winning Tomb Raider series.

NVIDIA will lend its gaming and PC development expertise to help bring the PC platform’s advanced gaming features to Shadow Of The Tomb Raider. This effort will help maximize the performance benefits of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series GPUs for PC gamers across the world. This continues the collaboration that began in the series’ previous title, Rise Of The Tomb Raider.

Delivering the climactic conclusion to Lara Croft’s origin story in remarkable new detail, developers Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal are also partnering with the talented studio Nixxes Software for the PC version of Shadow Of The Tomb Raider.

Long-standing veterans of the Tomb Raider franchise, Nixxes Software will lead development of Lara Croft’s defining moment for PC gamers everywhere. The studio boasts outstanding experience working on past hit Square Enix titles such as Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and many others.

Will this force a system upgrade for you or will you be good to go on September 14th? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss away.
