Only A Year Late…

PlayStation fiends finally get a second life

One of the big rumors and let downs, so far, for Sony has been their new “Social Network” program, Home. It has had so many rumors about when the mass populace will be able to get their hands on it, it has made a lot of people stop caring about it. To top that off, Sony’s very limited “Beta” for the program has also left a lot feeling left out. Don’t worry you people, there isn’t much that you are missing. Just having the early download.

But that isn’t why I am writing this. The big news here is that it has been reported that Home will open its doors to all on the 17th. The article link below discusses more on how the console will do during the holiday season, but it looks like they also let it go when one might be able to get in on the Home “fun.”

To try Home, which is slated for release in the next 10 days, players must download a piece of free software from Sony’s PlayStation store onto their own PS3.

Seeing as this was posted on the 7th, the 17th seems the mathematical time. But this doesn’t make sense to me. As far as the release date. Seeing as Sony gets all of their stuff out on Thursdays, generally, and the 17th is a Wednesday. Unless they are launching it through a firmware update. Doubtful on that, but then again it wouldn’t the first time Sony released something on a non-Thursday.

I’m still going to chalk this to a rumor for now, seeing as Sony has made no announcement to this regard. Figure something like this would come from the horse’s mouth first. But well have to see. Maybe everyone will be able to enjoy Home for the holidays.
