Eddy Is Out For All Of The Power In The Story For Funko Fusion

Funko Fusion — Story

The story and villain of Funko Fusion is finally here and it looks like the universe of Funko are getting shaken further

We finally have the main story we are going to be getting for Funko Fusion fresh out of SDCC. The overarching story and not the one for each of the universes that 10:10 Games has been able to add into the IP up to now. Not only that but as every good story needs a great antagonist, we have that reveal as well. One that shows that the great Clancy Brown will be terrorizing us as he brings Evil Eddy to life in Funko Fusion. The counterpoint to Freddy and all of the other “hero” characters we will get to play with when the game hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 13th. Also, the PS4 and Switch on November 11th. All of the release dates too.

Just like any good villain, this one has a goal and it is to dominate the various Funk universes out there with the more than sixty characters we are going to have in the game. All spanning various IPs with a few from each making it in. Eddy is setting out to all of them and warping them into an evil version of the lands, or enhancing them in the worlds that already have horrible villains, and it is up to our cast to stop that. Not the most unique story for Funko Fusion, but it looks like the individual ones in each of the worlds will also help highlight all of that. That or maybe add in a bit more of the horror for us and the wonder in other aspects. Have a look and see just about what is coming at us all in the coming months.

Funko Fusion — Story

Get ready Freddy… Eddy LIVES!

Birthed from the bowels of the Funko Wonder Works Factory, Eddy is evil incarnate. With the power of Freddy’s Crown, Eddy will travel to every world you love, warping it into his own distorted image.

Gather your friends and play with over 60 characters from some of your favorite franchises to take the fight to Eddy!

Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on 9/13.

Coming to PS4 and Switch on 11/15.

During SDCC, I had a chance to play through a little bit of Funko Fusion and specifically the Shaun Of The Dead area. An era that does not need more corruption in general. Although, it could be seen how Eddy played into it all so it was not just a basic retelling of the film’s story and added in the platforming and attacks we should expect in a game like this. All so we can see Funko give us a “grown-up” version of the things that LEGO just cannot out there. The story above, of course, explains more why the worlds are different and will require the various other characters to swap in and push things along so we can get that crown back. Again, while the story does not sound like it is breaking new ground out there, the gameplay we have and the reasons why we are getting these crossovers will be the bigger selling point.

Are you enjoying the base story for Funko Fusion or did you hope it was going to be something more? Do you like the fact they were able to land such great voice talent for this and who else do you think will be making their way in? Will you be leaning into some of the IPs more than others or will it be something that gets you to check out all of the IPs out there at some point? Jump on down to the comments to let us know and then discuss. We have more coming for Funko Fusion, as well as some interviews out of SDCC, so please keep checking back in for those updates and everything else we have to offer up for this game. It is going to be a fun one, indeed.
