Man Of Medan — Announcement

A new horror series of games has been announced with Man Of Medan coming at us to kick of The Dark Pictures anthology

If you are a fan of what Supermassive Games has been up to recently with their titles, then you will be tickled pink with their latest announcement of The Dark PicturesMan Of Medan. Technically two separate things that link together but the names run together for now. To be clear, The Dark Pictures is a new anthology of games with Man Of Medan being the first in the series. A series that Bandai Namco is having the team build now that will follow similar manners as Until Dawn and The Inpatient did but spanning over multiple horror games. It may sound a little off at first, but it looks like it will be a good thing for PS4, Xbox One, and PC gamers everywhere.

Man Of Medan will be the first title in the anthology here with a possibility of up to 39 others if the team gets to cover all of the horror subgenres they want. It will be a branching narrative, cinematic game where we will take on the roles of multiple characters to see if they live or die in our tale. Man Of Medan takes us down to the South Pacific where four Americans are searching out for things they should not be searching for and find a ghost ship. Things happen and our choices will dictate who will make it to the end. In the same manner as the other titles, all can live, all can die, and any variation in-between. There is no word that if all of the titles will be linked and share anything, but that is the long and short of it for the first entry into The Dark Pictures.

Man Of Medan is the first game in The Dark Pictures anthology, bringing supernatural horror to the South Pacific. Five friends set sail on a holiday diving trip with a rumored WWII wreck to find. As the day unfolds and a storm rolls in, their trip soon changes into something much more sinister. Who will live? Who will die? It’s down to you. Can you save them all?

If the above trailer was not enough for you to get an idea on what is going on in Man Of Medan, here is a bit more of the gameplay to take in. It looks like a little way into the narrative here and shows more of the horror we will have to fight our way through. It also only shows a few of the choices and actions we will need to take during the game, but Supermassive Games has stated that there are more options in Man Of Medan than we have seen in Until Dawn or The Inpatient. It truly looks like they took their newly built design and made it so they can keep telling all kinds of stories without missing much of a beat. I know I am looking forward to it all now.
