Challenging BioShock

BioShock PS3 DLC Surfaces Tomorrow

So tomorrow, November 20th, those of us that have picked up the PS3 version of BioShock are getting a nice little treat. Exclusive added content for the game on the PSN. The add on is listed below. But there is one thing I find a little off, at least for me, the price point for PS3 users to get this new content.

While PS3 BioShock owners will get access to the stuff that was given away to PC and XBox players, these 3 new challenge rooms come for a $10 fee. Might not sound too high, but it is only three new little sections for the game. Mind you a game that casual players still most likely have not beaten yet. At least on the PS3. Still no word form anyone on how in depth the extra stuff will be, but it seems a little steep to me for a few extra rooms of content. Granted to an enthusiast of the game, this is huge, but I just think the price point may be a bit high for it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

In any instance, I would like to hear what you all think on this. Should DLC like this be a bit cheaper? Between this and the $5.50 for new costumes in LBP and the myriad of other DLC that is out there, do you see these prices as fair for some of the small content additions they may be? Much different for $1-$2 for a song on RB/GH than a few new skins for a game. Sound off.

Here is the new stuff for BioShock as promised.

  • A Shocking Turn of Events – A Little Sister is trapped atop a Ferris wheel in an undisclosed location in Rapture. Using only the tools and environment around them, players must use their wits to create electricity to power the Ferris wheel and bring the Little Sister to safety.
  • The I in Team – Using limited resources, and an even more limited arsenal, players must negotiate traps and find a way to defeat a Big Daddy using their wits instead of raw firepower.
  • Worlds of Hurt – Step up and take on the most grueling challenge offered in the world of Rapture. Players must battle through eight rooms of Big Daddies, Splicers and the worst that Rapture has to offer. Accumulate Adam, build an arsenal of Plasmids, Tonics and Weaponry, and fight through to rescue the Little Sister.
