Assassin’s Creed Shadows Has More Gameplay & A Collector’s Edition Out There

Assassin’s Creed Shadows — Combat & Stealth Evolved

We have a lot of new gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows along with a look at the collector’s edition coming for this Assassin’s Creed

The massive news of games keeps on flowing out after all of the massive events like the Ubisoft Forward, with the next one being Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The title that so many have been waiting for as it takes the IP to Japan and tries to play around with what gamers have been looking for since day one. For some reason, Ninjas have been wanted more than anything in the Assassin’s Creed world, and when November 15th comes, we are going to get as close to that as possible. Seeing as we are not getting direct ninjas in the game but a better showcasing of the real-world history and styles that would fit the IP better. Although, I know you are here for the gameplay more than anything, and maybe the collector’s edition of the game that you can pick up as well.

A good portion of what was mentioned above is already known for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, though. What we get to see here is how we will play the game as either Naoe or Yasuke, where we will be able to switch during the game but not after we have started an infiltration. Makes perfect sense as one is more stealthy and the other, well, is not. In fact, most of this does not feel like it fits into the lore of Assassin’s Creed but more along the lines of giving in to fans. Yasuke is based on a real samurai and in the gameplay we see as he does not blend in and is all about brute force. Usually, something that the games lean us away from. Then we see as Naoe leans more into the shinobi which feels like it is stealthier than any of the past titles. Not terrible to think about, but it feels like all past characters were a better blending of these two and now we have to see them play out separately.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows — Summer Game Fest 2024

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on November 15th, 2024.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will live the intertwined stories of Naoe, an adept shinobi Assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend. Against the backdrop of the turbulent late Sengoku period, this remarkable duo will discover their common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan. From chaos to purpose, from darkness to light. A new Creed rises over Japan.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows — Extended Gameplay Walkthrough

Discover more than 12 minutes of gameplay from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, available on November 15.

While it is fun to see some of the new Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay go down, maybe it is time to allow some of the team behind the game to better explain what we have to experience here and how things have been evolved. Even if both characters seem to have two different weapons that fit a different style and then all of the usual special abilities added in from a few of the past titles. All while seeing that this Assassin’s Creed will add in some fun ways of killing our enemies like stabbing through walls, or using a bamboo shoot to stay underwater just a bit longer to get the perfect kill. All interesting to see but it still does not feel like it is in the same IP when things are boiled down. Maybe that is just me and my lack of interest in the whole Asian culture side of things. That does play a factor in it all.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows — Combat & Stealth Evolved

Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Game Director Charles Benoit and Art Director Thierry Dansereau showcase how combat and stealth are evolving as they break down the first official gameplay reveal for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Learn more about the new samurai melee combat moves that allow Yasuke to overpower his foes and the new shinobi stealth tools that make Naoe the stealthiest Assassin yet.

Now that we have all of the gameplay out of the way, we can have a look at the collector’s edition that is coming for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. One that feels right at home with all of the others as it comes with a nice statue showing off both Naoe and Yasuke, a katana tsuba, a wall scroll, and then the usual art books and steelbooks to add to your home. I am sure that these will be a great addition to any of the Assassin’s Creed collectors out there. Especially if you have been collecting the statues over each of the titles out there and have a solid display to show it all off. That aspect by itself has me eying this one but maybe I will just wait until I can get the statue by itself down the line.
