AC/DC is coming to Rock Band

On September 30th it was
officially announced on the Rock Band forum that AC/DC is coming to the hugely
popular Harmonix title. Though their song “Let There be Rock” is playable for
Rock Band 2, currently out on the Xbox 360 and soon for the PS3, the band will
also be getting the stand-alone treatment for both the original Rock Band and
its sequel. Available only on disc and not a part of the DLC, the installment
will be titled AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack and hits store shelves on
November 2nd for the 360, PS3 and PS2. The Wii version will follow
two weeks later on November 16th. The disc features the 18 songs as
performed by AC/DC at the legendary Live At Donington show. Among the list are
Back in Black, Thunderstruck, Moneytalks, T.N.T., Helles Bells, and Let There
Be Rock.

The track pack will be on sale
exclusively to Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores for the retail price of $39.88
for the PS3, 360, and Wii editions while the PS2 version is set at $29.88. The
deal follows with other AC/DC releases that in the past have been exclusive to
the 2 stores. Although on disc, the game will also feature a one-time use
export code in the manual that will allow players to export tracks from the
disc into either Rock Band 1 or 2. Aside from a slightly steep price, the only
sad news is that none of the band members will be featured as playable
characters in the game. I suppose I can always create my own crazy adult
schoolboy guitarist.
