A new trailer for Injustice 2 is here and it gives us a small taste of Injustice 2’s Poison Ivy and here work with the Green
We’ve had a solid few teases for Poison Ivy for Injustice 2 so far but nothing more than a look and a few glimpses at her in action in a few teamed up trailers before. It’s been requested that we get to see her in action so many times before May 16th and NetherRealm Studios has already said that we would see here in a live-stream soon but of course that is not soon enough for a lot of us. This is where the good new comes in for us as now we have a nice introduction trailer for Ivy here and a look at how she will function in Injustice 2. That an extended look at here super move that we’ve also only seen a small snippet of to date. All kinds of new Ivy stuff to look at and some alternate gear for other characters she is taking down.
Have a look at Poison Ivy in action for Injustice 2 here. We’ll carry on with our thoughts just after the video here.
Injustice 2 — Introducing Poison Ivy!
Poison Ivy
Dr. Pamela Isley was once an innovative, radical botanical biochemist with a singular goal: make the world safe for plant life to flourish. She joins the Society to further their common interest in bringing mankind to its knees, but at heart, Ivy’s desire is to ensure that in any new world order, flora dominates fauna.
So maybe it is just me but Ivy looks to work like a great mixture of Harley Quinn and Catwoman in Injustice 2 here. She has all the acrobatics that we’ve seen before and can call in her “pets” to come and help with a few attacks. Although I am glad to see that she is using Monkey Fists as a weapon here though; at least if you want to call them that as they are all plant made. This would be the “ball on a string” weapon she is swinging around here in the video. It looks like a great addition to Injustice 2 as it is something that isn’t used in many games first off and is really fitting for the character given that she needed a way to strike without just relying on her plat projectiles and fists. Something she isn’t well known for when you look at the source.
I do have a feeling that her kiss move is going to be the bane for many in Injustice 2. Not just her super move starter but the throw, or what looks like a throw, that seems to have quite a wind up to pull off. It is going to burn through a lot of meter to break the throw given that it does look like there is a lot of time to pull of the break. So bane on both sides but I can see how it can be a great throw-off in Injustice 2 that could make it easier to bring down harder combatants. I’m just curious if Swamp Thing would get any kind of bonus against it all. Most likely not as NetherRealm Studios doesn’t look to be going those kinds of bonuses and con in the game but it would be interesting if she was harsher against Bane and weak against Swamp Thing.
