More delays have hit Marvel’s Avengers and we will not be able to take on the various Avengers roles until September now
Here we go with yet another delay out there as it looks like Marvel’s Avengers will now be heading for September 4th now instead of May 15th. Yes, that is a massive wait we are going to have to go through before we can get in on this comic adventure. We have been waiting for a while since it was first shown to us but it does look like Crystal Dynamics needs just a bit more to make sure it is ‘polished’ up to the level we and them have been demanding. Even with the little bit we have had for Marvel’s Avengers so far and everything. Just another sad delay mixed into all of the video games out there.
The odd bit for Marvel’s Avengers here is that we have not had that huge of a build-up and the original release date felt like something that the teams needed to announce to try to secure some pre-orders. That is how it felt to me. In all honesty, this is most likely the best choice for Marvel’s Avengers here more than just the generic ‘polish’ excuse that we always get. I am sure that we are going to see some of that come off for the game, but it also allows for there to be much more time to pad the other bits of gameplay we have been offered outside of the core campaign. Not to mention to try to line up to all that film and TV synergy that will be out there around the same time.
Important Marvel’s Avengers Update
To our fans,
At Crystal Dynamics our ambition has always been to deliver the ultimate Avengers gaming experience. In order to achieve that goal, we have made the difficult decision to move the release date of Marvel’s Avengers to September 4, 2020.
As fans ourselves, it’s an honor and a privilege to work with these legendary characters and we know what these Super Heroes mean to us and True Believers around the world. When we set out to bring you our vision for Marvel’s Avengers, we committed to delivering an original story-driven campaign, engaging co-op, and compelling content for years to come. To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine-tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve.
The worldwide teams working on Marvel’s Avengers sincerely appreciate the support you’ve shown us. We thrive on your enthusiasm and feedback and we can’t wait to show you more. We apologize for the delay. We’re confident it will be worth the wait.

Are you surprised that Marvel’s Avengers was hit with delays or did you think that it was going to stick to its guns from last Summer? Could this mean that we will have more characters in the mix for the campaign or will it just allow for more time to build up the other aspects promised for the game? Could this be more of a marketing ploy to grab the hype from all of the other Marvel stuff out there or just when the team thinks they will be able to get it all done? Let us all know down in the comments what you are thinking and then feel free to discuss. When we have more to share for Marvel’s Avengers, you know we will share it all here. Just stick close to the site for it all.
