A new IP, Godfall, was announced and now we have some new details for Godfall and how it will all flow out into the world
For those not paying close attention to the world of gaming out there, we have our first PS5 title announced with Godfall as it is aiming to come at the same time the console launches. It is also going to be hitting the PC via the Epic Store at the same time, but that does not make as big of a splash for many out there. Even if you should be keeping a close eye on what Counterplay Games has here for us with Godfall. I am sure that Gearbox Publishing would enjoy that too so we can all see and hear what the game will all be about after its big splash during The Game Awards this year. That is when it was first revealed not so long ago.
For those who missed out until now, Godfall is a third-person looter slasher with the three protagonists out to stop an impending apocalypse. What is causing it, is still up for us to figure out. What we do know is that we will take on the roles of these characters based on the armor we don in the game and then march out into the world solo, as a duo, or as a trifecta of apocalypse stopping power. All while picking up all of the loot that is dropped out there. Godfall is starting to sound more and more like a different title from the publisher but in a fantasy setting with some other fun myths too. Have a look at the trailer running in real-time for the game and not pre-rendered.
Godfall — Reveal
Godfall is a third-person fantasy looter-slasher focused on melee combat, coming to PlayStation 5 & Epic Games Store Holiday 2020. Developed by Counterplay Games & published by Gearbox Publishing.
At its core, Godfall is a fantasy action RPG that utilizes high-impact third-person melee combat to engage players as they hunt for loot, don legendary armor sets, and defeat vicious enemies. As players face challenging missions in the world of Godfall, enemies and bosses will reward fans with head-turning loot as they are vanquished. Godfall can be played entirely in solo, duo, or three-player coop, providing fun for all.
Are you excited to see and hear about Godfall and that it will be a launch title for the PS5? DO you think that could hurt the game given how launch titles have been in the past? Do you think it will get bogged down with the same rinse and repeat style of gaming that the looter genre normally is? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. For more on Godfall, be sure to keep checking back here. We will keep you updated as we head into the new year and Spring for this one.
