The official announcement for Far Cry 6 is here and with it comes all the bundles and when we will get to experience what Far Cry 6 has to offer
It really looks like Ubisoft is killing it with all of the announcements and showings for their game and we have the next big one with Far Cry 6. It was another of those leaked and not-so-well held secrets out there, but now we have a full announcement and can see what is going on for the game. Also, to see just what is going on with Giancarlo Esposito in the game. It does turn out that he will be playing one of the big bads in Far Cry 6 as was speculated. I know we will know for certain on February 18th of 2021, as that is when the game is poised to hit the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. This one giving us the option to buy directly for the next-gen system or pick it up on the current-gen with a free update post-launch.
As you can see in the following announcement videos, Far Cry 6 is going to take us down to a Caribbean island that is also in the midst of some chaos. We will be playing as Dani Rojas as we try to spark the revolution and give power back to the people in the lands from Giancarlo and his son’s grasp. Do note that Dani is a non-gender specific name here as that does mean we will have that option from the start of Far Cry 6 to fit the game toward what we want to experience over a forced perspective. I see that as meaning things will be a bit more generic in the game when it comes to all of that, but it is nice to have options along the way. Even if we do not fully get to see Dani in either form in any of this.
Far Cry 6 — Cinematic Title Sequence
Far Cry 6 has been announced, revealing a Caribbean island simmering with revolutionary tension. The Far Cry franchise has always had a flair for fascinating antagonists, and Far Cry 6 will feature Emmy Award Nominee Giancarlo Esposito (“Better Call Saul,” “The Boys,” “The Mandalorian”) as President Antón Castillo, the violent leader who grips the island of Yara with an iron fist, promising a return to its former glory. With an arsenal of weapons and allies at your back, you’ll take on Castillo’s regime and fight for the future of Yara. Far Cry 6 is coming to Xbox Series X, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, Stadia, and PC (through the Epic Games Store, Uplay, and Uplay+) on February 18, 2021.
As Dani Rojas (playable as a female or male character), you will help stoke the fires of revolution through guerrilla warfare across the island of Yara, from verdant jungles to the urban streets of the capital city, Esperanza. You’ll use a powerful array of weapons and vehicles, and build a network of allies to fight alongside you, including Fangs for Hire like Chorizo, the dangerously distracting wiener dog. As President Castillo prepares his son Diego, played by Anthony Gonzalez (“Coco”), to succeed him, you will do all you can to ensure his plans don’t come to fruition.
Also, as to be expected, if you are looking to pre-order Far Cry 6, you can do that as of right now and for any of the platforms mentioned. There will be some fun little pre-order bonuses, with the best being a weaponized wiener dog. It also looks like there will be multiple options as to how we can pick up Far Cry 6 too. Most of which will add in more DLC than the previous, with a Collector’s Edition offering up a few physical items to hold. One of which is a replica of a flamethrower weapon from the game. Kind of a cool thing to add for the true collectors, but seems to miss the mark as an up-charge for those looking to just have a full gameplay experience.
Far Cry 6 — World Premiere
Far Cry 6 is now available for pre-order. Players who purchase the game on Xbox One or PS4 will be able to upgrade their version to Xbox Series X or PS5, respectively, at no cost. Pre-ordering will unlock access to the Libertad pack, which includes the Libertad outfit for Chorizo as well as the “Discos Locos,” a weaponized disc launcher.
The Gold Edition will include the base game and the Season Pass.
The Ultimate Edition will include the base game, the Season Pass, and the Ultimate pack, which includes Jungle Expedition, Croc Hunter, and Vice packs.
The Collector’s Edition will include the base game, Season Pass, the Ultimate pack, a high-end replica of “Tostador,” an in-game flamethrower weapon (7 parts to be assembled, length: 72cm), a “How to Assemble” one-pager artwork illustrated by artist Tobatron, a unique Collector’s Case based on Tobatron’s art style, an exclusive Steelbook, a 64-page artbook, a set of 10 stickers, a Chorizo keyring, a map, and a selected soundtrack.
Far Cry 6 — Meet Antón Castillo
In Far Cry 6, Giancarlo Esposito (“Better Call Saul,” “The Boys,” “The Mandalorian”) plays Antón Castillo, the ruthless dictator of the fictional island nation of Yara. Antón is preparing his son, Diego (played by Anthony Gonzalez of “Coco”), to face the harsh realities of ruling with an iron fist. Find out what makes Antón and Diego tick as Esposito and Gonzalez break down their characters, delve into the father-son dynamic, and share the challenges of bringing their characters to life in a videogame. Far Cry 6 launches on February 18, 2021 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
Did you put faith in all of those Far Cry 6leaks from before or did you think we could have been far off? Do you suspect that we will have a chance to flip Diego in the story given how the cinematic shows him to be a little uncertain or will Diego always be heading down the dark path? Which version will you be picking up or is it a little odd to have multiple versions with extra DLC here? Let us all know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there is more to share for Far Cry 6, we will have it all here. Just be sure to keep checking in for all of that and more.
