The next title in the Watch Dogs franchise is now announced, as we will see Watch Dogs Legion at E3 this year after various ‘leaks’
If you were hoping for a huge reveal to happen from Ubisoft at E3, then it is time to take some of the steam out as we have word that Watch Dogs Legion is officially going to be a thing now. Not that there will not be other huge announcements, but it looks like the publisher opted to get out ahead of the recent leak of the game and announce it before their big event. Why no one can hold on to their secret information they have been trusted with is beyond me still, but it is what it is. It did give us the official announcement of Watch Dogs Legion, so we cannot be too upset.
For those who may have been left out of the loop, there were rumors about that Watch Dogs Legion was going to be the next entry to the franchise. All of which came from a listing on Amazon for the game well before it was announced. Given how the internet is, and in theme with the game a bit, it looks like they chose to just announce the basics and get us hyped for the big event. You can see that below as well as see how it rather confirms what was listed for Watch Dogs Legion over on Amazon before it was removed.

Watch Dogs Legion Description
Watch Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It’s a post-Brexit world in which society, politics, and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries… London makes total sense for Watch Dogs, as the city has one of the highest surveillance levels in the world making this the perfect playground.
Play as anyone, Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits, and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay systems.
The first thing is that it does look like Watch Dogs Legion will take place in England with London being the obvious choice. The use of “God Save” is usually mixed with “The Queen” so it is not hard to extrapolate from that. It also lists out the NPCs specifically in the announcement, so unless Ubisoft is playing coy with it all, we may be able to play as any NPC in the game world through various means. Given that this Watch Dogs title is supposed to take place in the near-future, my guess is that we will see more cybernetics or cyborgs and this will be how we play as any NPC in the world. I guess we will find out for certain next week.
What thoughts do you have on Watch Dogs Legion at this point or are you holding out for the official announcement? Do you see all of the parallels mentioned here between the leak and the announcement of the game? Could this all be a rouse to throw us all off what they are truly planning at E3? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. As we find out more for Watch Dogs Legion, we will update you here. All you need to do is keep checking back in for all of that and more. Most likely after E3 if all goes as planned.
