A new Resident Evil 3 gameplay stream has taken place to give us all a better look at how some of the basic Resident Evil 3 gameplay will flow
The teasing of gameplay for Resident Evil 3 is mostly over, as we had the chance to actually see some of the game in motion here today. Well, almost anyone out there that had a chance to check in on the stream that Capcom held today had the same chance. That does not mean that we are not going to take a look at it all again and show it off to more of the Resident Evil fans out there that may have missed it. More so as they took great care to not show off anything that would truly spoil the game before it launches on April 3rd for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. That would have been a horrible thing to do.
That option does mean that there is not much in the way of story, truly exploring the world, reading intel documents, or diving into those Resident Evil puzzles we all know we will have to work with. It is what it is, but we did get a nice look at how some of the basic mechanics and the look of the world will be on the PS4. That is what it is all running on. Something that looks a bit more vibrant than the more recent Resident Evil 2 given the timeline the game is set upon. It does take place a day before those events so there is still power in Raccoon City and less destruction that has occurred. That is the rationale for now.
There is a nice look at the movement and shooting in Resident Evil 3 here. Obviously the explosive containers are in there and for some reason, the zombies can take more headshots than they should be able to. Thankfully, we also get to see the inclusion of being able to shake off the zombies in Resident Evil 3 if they do grab ahold and try to take a bite out of us. This is done via a button-mashing event that has Jill thrusting them off. I guess having that new tactical look about her is going to pay off. Even if she should be a bit more covered to help keep the bites from hitting direct skin here…
Resident Evil 3 — Gameplay Demo
Resident Evil 3 returns to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3rd, 2020. Experience Jill Valentine’s encounter with the unrelenting Nemesis in this survival-horror classic remade from the ground up.
It also includes Resident Evil Resistance, a new 1 vs 4 asymmetrical online multiplayer game set in the Resident Evil universe. Cooperate as one of four Survivors or as a twisted Mastermind attempting to stop them at every turn.
What do you think about Resident Evil 3 now that you have seen a bit more of it in motion than a trailer? Does it look like the team is going to make up for the lackluster version from so long ago or will that judgment need to wait until we all get it in our hands? Are you curious about how the events here will try to play into the events of the second game or will it all stay isolated for much longer than we think? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. When we have more to offer up for Resident Evil 3, we will share it all here. Be sure to keep checking in for all of that and much more in the coming weeks.
