During the Stadia E3 pre-event, Baldur’s Gate 3 was officially announced to bring all of those Baldur’s Gate fans back for another adventure

It looks like all the speculation and rumors came true, as we now have official word that Baldur’s Gate 3 is in the works and coming from Larian Studios. Not only that, but heading to PC and for those who are going to be moving over to Stadia for their gaming needs when that service officially launches. Yes, that means this is yet another of the titles announced during the major event just ahead of E3 all so we can get our expectations up for what Baldur’s Gate 3 may actually hold at the end of the day. I am certain that fans will be looking for anything and hype levels will be through the roof for this one.

Sadly, all that is currently known for Baldur’s Gate 3 is what was mentioned there and the new cinematic trailer to give us a feeling of what the game could hold. Fans of the original will obviously see a few things mixed in there that will make it into the game. Not to mention that fans of the current D&D system will have those mechanics to look forward to as they are being used for this Baldur’s Gate when it comes to the basics and spells. Something that Wizards of the Coast is working closely with these developers to get right. It is something I am certain fans of the franchise will not let anyone live down if it does not.

Baldur’s Gate 3 — Announcement

Larian Studios is proud to announce that it is developing and publishing Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC and Google Stadia. Created in close collaboration with the Dungeons & Dragons team at Wizards of the Coast, Baldur’s Gate 3 is based off current D&D mechanics and spells and is the official new chapter in the legendary series.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will push the boundaries of the RPG genre and offer a rich narrative with unparalleled player freedom, high-stakes decisions, unique companion characters, and memorable combat. It is Larian Studios’ biggest production ever and will be playable together with friends or as a single-player adventure.

The teaser trailer shows a return of a malevolent presence to Baldur’s Gate, intent on devouring it from the inside out, corrupting everything that remains in the Forgotten Realms.

Alone you may resist, but together you can overcome. Gather your party.

Larian Studios plans to work closely with the global community to bring the coveted series to life, with more news to follow over the course of the year.
