Dead Age 2 Is Shuffling Back Just A Little Bit Now

Dead Age 2 — Key Art

The Early Access for Dead Age 2 has to shamble a bit further back as COVID-19 causes Dead Age 2 to not reach a release state

It is coming to little surprise with how the world is going that we are going to see delays and pushes for games, and Dead Age 2 is another in the growing list that will be missing the mark due to everything. This would be the next rogue-like tactical survival title coming out of Silent Dreams and Headup for the PC. Originally it was slated to hit its Early Access state on June 3rd, but now it looks like we will have to wait until July. July 16th specifically for those looking to get their hands on with Dead Age 2 in the early form. It sounds a bit weird to say since it is not a final build release date that is shifting, but a beta style one, yet this is the world we live in now.

As you most likely have figured out by now, COVID-19 is the reason that we are seeing the date shift for Dead Age 2. The teams behind it all have had to shift their working progress to make sure they are all safe out there and this has caused a bit of a time delay. It is not going to be uncommon at all here. Thankfully, it is only a delay by a little over a month and not one that is seeing almost half a year for anything as other titles have seen. Maybe because Dead Age 2 is not the biggest of titles, but that does not make it any less important out there. This would not be a sequel if there were not gamers interested in it all.

Dead Age 2 — Announcement

Today, publisher Headup announced a slight delay for their rogue-like tactics survival game Dead Age 2.

“Due to the necessary work adjustments during the COVID-19 lockdown which were necessary to keep everyone at good health, the current version of Dead Age 2 did not quite reach the technical quality standards that the studio and we have set and wanted to achieve for the Early Access Release on June 3rd – we are close but simply not 100% there yet…

As we strive for the highest quality even for an Early Access release and as we feel we also owe this to you, the players, we mutually decided to postpone the Early Access to July 16, 2020 to secure the best possible game experience.

We apologize to everyone who counted down the last couple of weeks. And please believe us: This decision was not easy for us. But striving for excellence, we humbly ask for your understanding in this matter. Thank you for your patience, and rest assured that we can’t wait for you all to get your hands on what has been created over the last three years.”

The new release date for Windows PC in Early Access via Steam and GOG is July 16, 2020. Players can wishlist the game on its official Steam store page.

Are you at all surprised that Dead Age 2 was shifted to hit Early Access or did you suspect it could be the case? Do you think it is weird to have release announcements for Early Access games or should they be treated as final builds are? Have you enjoyed this franchise since the first title or is this a very niche title for gamers out there? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there is anything further to share for Dead Age 2, we will do so here on the site. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and much more.
