Injustice 2’s Starfire Is On The Way With Some Others In Tow

Injustice 2 — Introducing Starfire!

The first gameplay look for Injustice 2’s Starfire has landed and it looks like more Injustice 2 premiere skins are on the way too

Just as we all assumed, during SDCC this year we had another character for Injustice 2 shown off. Not a completely new character in terms of announcement, but we did get to finally see NetherRealm Studios‘ version of Starfire for the game in action and assumed to be released during August as part of the first Fighter Pack. While it would have been awesome to get solid word on the other characters coming to Injustice 2 in the coming months while out there, it is nice to see that they are working hard on bringing us what has already been announced out there. Even if the Microsoft Store is jumping the gun and letting us know that Black Manta is indeed coming to the game soon.

Anyways, back to Starfire for Injustice 2. As you will see below, it doesn’t look like anything too groundbreaking in terms of moves and attacks. More or less she looks to play how you would picture her with all of the green energy blasts, flight, and lasers that she’s known for in the comics and cartoons. I’m not saying that she doesn’t look like a great addition to Injustice 2 here, but she is looking to play just as anyone out there could have assumed she would. Now we just need to wait until she actually shows up as more than just an icon in the game so we can continue the fight with here.

Injustice 2 — Introducing Starfire!

Starfire

As the next Queen of Tamaran, Princess Koriand’r found herself the victim of her fratricidal sister’s vengeful plot that resulted in their planet being conquered. Now a royal exile on Earth, Koriand’r uses her ability to absorb and convert ultraviolet energy as Starfire.

Wait a second… Did you see that? Was that Bizarro in Injustice 2 there? As a matter of fact, that was. It looks like we also had a nice tease for a new premiere skin here as well as Starfire. Of course this is all we have to see here for the skin, if it is truly that, but if you look close there is a bit more to it. It looks like NetherRealm Studios has also mixed up the powers just as they should be. So unlike other premiere skins it looks like this will swap up Superman’s Freeze Breath and Heat Vision to the way it would be for the character; Fire Breath and Ice Beams. All of the other premiere skins still use the same powers as the base character so far so this is actually a huge deviation for Injustice 2.

As this is all we have for the skin here, there of course is no word on how players will be able to get the skin. Maybe it will come free to all of those who have the Fighter Packs. Maybe it will be unlocked via in-game means like Source Crystals or Mother Boxes. Maybe it could also be a small real-world currency price just to have the extra cool look added on. My money is on the second option there, but given all of the extra currencies in Injustice 2 it could go any way. I guess we will all find out here shortly though as it looks like the team is trying to keep to a major update each month and August would be the next one there.

How do you feel about Starfire here for Injustice 2 and how she looks to handle? Do you agree that she seems fairly “vanilla” when it comes to it all or will it be another massive change up like other characters have been? Do you like the idea of Bizarro being a premiere skin here or was that something you knew was only a matter of time to come? Let us all know your thoughts down in the comments and then feel free to discuss away. There is still a lot more for Injustice 2 to come and we will try to bring it all to you. Keep checking in on the site here to see and hear it all. Hopefully not as cryptic or rumors as we’ve had in the past.
