Welcome To Cedar Hills As We Dive Into The Casting Of Frank Stone

The Casting Of Frank Stone — Welcome To Cedar Hills

Go behind the scenes of The Casting Of Frank Stone to see the land and how the team is bringing the world of Frank Stone to life

There have been a few steps into the town of Cedar Hills before with looks at The Casting Of Frank Stone, but now, we have a nice and longer look at the town and how it all came to be. Not in terms of the horrors that have plagued the town or how the Entity out there has twisted things, but more in the way of how Supermassive Games is crafting this whole narrative experience. All of this is still in the Dead By Daylight universe. The Casting Of Frank Stone will just be using more of their storytelling style to it all instead of the normal matches one would expect from the core game to it all. All of which to get us ready for the September 3rd release on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Let us have a gander at how it all came to be.

There are the usual behind-the-scenes things here for The Casting Of Frank Stone from the developer, but we do have a deeper look at how the environments and lighting have taken place. Like the fact that some of the areas we are going to be in were 3D scanned and dropped into the Unreal 5 engine to add some extra levels of realism to our experience. Then there are the lighting and fog effects to further make things creepier for us. All to wrap up with a look at how The Casting Of Frank Stone will also let us see some of the consequences of the past while playing in the future. That is, we will participate in things from the past and when we head into the “present” of the game, we will see some of those actions reflected as well as how the world has opted to change and grow because of all of that. Not something most would expect, but with choice always being an option in their games, I am glad to see it all.

About The Casting Of Frank Stone:

  • The storytelling prowess of Supermassive Games meets the Dead By Daylight universe in a haunting horror game that won’t soon be forgotten.
  • In the summer of 1980, four friends set out to make their mark on horror cinema. What they capture will trigger the unthinkable. Decide their fate, develop their relationships, and guide their shoot of Murder Mill, a soon-to-be cult classic with an insidious influence…
  • In The Casting Of Frank Stone, a dark branching narrative lies before you. Your decisions pen the script – the only thing standing between life and death for a group of young filmmakers. Change reality with your choices, unlock new paths with your actions, and discover what horrors your final cut may hold.
  • In a story where every move matters, actions can speak louder than words. Explore a cinematic nightmare, testing your wits as you solve environmental puzzles and react to Quick Time Events. Guide your cast of characters through eerie locations and search for clues that hide the bigger picture.

It is interesting to see how the team brought real-world assets into the game and most might never even catch it while playing The Casting Of Frank Stone. Sure, it should be expected that it is there for ambiance and to have some environmental storytelling, but can you also imagine just driving along and seeing some of the game in real life? Talk about a fun little crossover that not only helps out with the development of the game but for some could add a bit of extra immersing and questioning of reality at the same time. Not that The Casting Of Frank Stone is one of these kinds of games at its core. This is just something I expect to see more and more of in the future and with more locations around the world. So, one could be on a trip or just wandering their neighborhood and also be transported back to the game. At least, in visual memory of things instead of for real.

How are you feeling about the look and feel of The Casting Of Frank Stone and do you like the way they are telling some of the stories? Will we start to see more of these slightly altered real-world scans in our games or will they always be used as a good reference and we need artists to build from scratch? We will get to make big choices in the past of the story that will completely alter paths in the current day? Head on down to the comments and make that choice to share there and then discuss. We are getting more for The Casting Of Frank Stone and will keep on sharing it all as we can. Please keep on checking back for all of those updates and everything else we have to offer up out there for the game. We have a little more time before the frights set right in.
