Take a walk down even more paths in The Alters as we see how the various Jans will handle regret with The Alters
It is time to ask even more questions about The Alters as we dive into more of the ideas and thoughts behind the game. Not in the way of 11 Bit Studios giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the game, but in the way of setting more of the tone and story coming about with the game. The Alters is all about having many of the same person walking about with one single choice changing the way their life played out. All so they can stay alive and navigate their crashed ship away from the horrors out there. At least when the game drops on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC down the line. I am guessing this is one timeline where that release date has already happened while ours still needs to wait…
While it is nice to have something else for The Alters to look at, this one feels a lot more like a tone and setting trailer than one that actually gives us any gameplay to enjoy. Not a terrible thing, but worth noting as some of these choices and alters might not be in the full build of the game. Even if some of these are the more difficult questions we have to ask ourselves each day in general. This is where I think The Alters is going to shine the best with the commentary and getting gamers to think about things out there. Some things may seem little but could have life-altering outcomes and not specifically for those who are making the choices. Have a look and see how bright and dark this story might be going if all of this is to be believed to be in the game. Now if only we could be on that release date timeline…
The Alters — What If?
A huge part of The Alters is asking ourselves difficult questions. For Jan and all the other Jans the most important ones are focused on his life choices and all the things he could’ve done differently. How much a single choice can change a man’s life and what would happen, if he were to choose differently? What if?
