Six Days In Fallujah Is Kicking In Doors With Early Access

Six Days In Fallujah — Early Access

Head out to Fallujah now with the launch of the Early Access that is out there for Six Days In Fallujah

Normally, when it comes to Early Access games, we try to steer away from them but Six Days In Fallujah caught our eyes a while ago and there is a need to let you all know it is out there in Early Access form now. As of this moment you are reading this, unless this is the future and Victura with Highwire Games has already launched the full game, you can head out on your PC to give this all a try. Six Days In Fallujah will be out there like this for the next year, at the very least, before we get to see it in its final form on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Now that we have that out of the way…

So, if we do not normally dive in like this, why are we? Well, Six Days In Fallujah caught my eye a while back with not only its co-op gameplay and realistic simulations for urban combat but in the way of showing civilians some of the true horrors of war that are taken for granted. There is an uncertainty of coming back alive all the time and most games out there show off that the soldiers normally will and will always have the upper hand. In Six Days In Fallujah, though, it is telling stories from those that were in the battles and uses procedural building technology to give us all a better understanding of what the experience is actually like. Even the latest trailer for the game makes it feel closer to a horror title than any of the other military shooters out there. All to show us how horrible war is out there just a bit more.

Six Days In Fallujah — Early Access

Victura and Highwire Games launched the first-person tactical shooter Six Days In Fallujah in Steam’s Early Access. Featuring four cooperative, four-player missions, Six Days In Fallujah’s urban maps are generated procedurally, simulating the uncertainty of combat, and offering unlimited replayability.

The most realistic simulation of urban combat to-date, Six Days In Fallujah is developed with help from more than 100 Marines and Soldiers who served in the Second Battle of Fallujah, as well as more than two dozen Iraqi civilians and soldiers. Based on true stories from the battle, Six Days requires players to overcome real-world scenarios with their fire team by using real-life military tactics.

In the coming months, additional features and content will be introduced, including:

  • Night-time Missions
  • Knowing what lies around the next corner is hard enough during daylight hours. Gameplay evolves with even more tension with the addition of night-time missions, as more are added throughout Early Access.
  • Weather variation
  • While night-time missions will add to the procedural architecture, weather variation will challenge players and add to the complexity of missions.
  • “Go” Command
  • Later this year, take control of your AI teammates with unique tactical control, drawing inspiration from real-life tactics.
  • Single Player Missions
  • Specific moments from the second battle of Fallujah from those who were there, including Special Operations Missions, Civilians, and more.

Expected to remain in Early Access for one year, Six Days In Fallujah will expand its tense, and challenging tactical shooter, with a full release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

From the sounds of it all here, Six Days In Fallujah looks like it is going to be more than just a passion project for all involved here. Especially since the teams have listed out all of the features they want to get added into the game over the next year before launch and I am sure this is a growing list. Even though I am not a fan of the Early Access model, the procedurally generated maps and elements do need to be worked out and who better to do that than gamers out there? All so the team can dedicate more time to making more of the real-world scenarios that went down in Fallujah so we can better respect those that went through it all. Even if many gamers out there are just going to be looking at it all as more pixels to shoot up and not much else. Gods, I hope not.

Have you been dying to get your hands on Six Days In Fallujah before now or have you already picked it up in Early Access? Does this all feel more like a horror game now than a combat simulation, at least for those of us that have never seen real combat? How long do you truly think it will stay in Early Access and will it be able to launch out there on all platforms sooner than a year? Fly on down to the comment section and then feel free to discuss all of this and more. Obviously, we will have more for Six Days In Fallujah up on the site as soon as we can, so please keep checking back in for all of that and more. I am sure we will all be pleased by what will be on the way in a short amount of time.
