Saturnalia Is On Its Way To Spread The Old Celebrations

Saturnalia — Releasing In 2021

A new trailer for Saturnalia is out there with some new gameplay and where we will be able to Saturnalia when it launches

It is that time of year again for more Christmas Violence or to celebrate Saturnalia. That or any of the many other holidays out there from the past and present. That is not fully why we are here right now, as it is all about the latest update from Santa Ragione and their upcoming title. A title that just happens to be called Saturnalia that is now poised to hit the Epic Store in 2021. Maybe in Q2 or maybe in Q4. The latter being the best option in my opinion, but getting a new game in the mix is always welcome no matter the time of year.

For those that do not have any knowledge of Saturnalia, it is an upcoming Rogue-Lite that takes us to the village of Gravoi. A village that still holds onto all of the older traditions and embraces the celebrations of the end of the season and the rise of a new sun. All in a survival horror setting that uses the art style from so many 80s music videos. Something that fits as the game is set in the era. All the fun for us to move about the procedurally generated areas of Saturnalia using light to fend off all of the horrors that might be stalking right behind us.

Saturnalia — Releasing In 2021

Saturnalia is coming to the Epic Games Store in 2021!

It’s almost a new year, and time to celebrate the end of the current season! Families gather for frivolity and festivity, closing out the year with celebrations and tradition. As you feel the passing of another year gone by, you notice the hair on the back of your neck begin to stand up, an uneasy feeling creeps across your shoulders, and suddenly everything feels – wrong.

What’s happening in the village of Gravoi? Where is everyone disappearing to, and what is this unnatural fog keeping you from moving forward? The twisting streets that were so inviting a few hours ago suddenly become mazelike, closing in on you, suffocatingly dark.

Saturnalia provides a survival horror experience unlike any other. Investigate the lives of ordinary citizens determined to embrace the old ways – or defy them. With light as your only weapon, move through the village hunting for answers, discover haunting secrets, and learn the truth behind the village traditions.

This trailer was shot using footage taken during location scouting, and gameplay.

Do you think it would make sense to see Saturnalia drop on us later in 2021 or will it still come a bit before to give us more to game with? How do you like the look of the game and the choice of art style that the team is employing here? Do you think we will see various other older celebrations or will it focus on the titular one more than anything? Let us all know down in the comments what you are thinking and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If there is more to share for Saturnalia, you know we will have it all here. Please keep checking in for all of that and much more.
