The next addition to the Alien franchise in video game form has been announced and our mobile phones will see Alien: Blackout soon

A new mobile game is aiming to bring one of the major horror franchises to us all as Alien: Blackout is announced and up for pre-ordering for the iOS and Android devices. You read that correctly. It is a new addition to the franchise that will be playable on mobile devices and looks to further things along the lines of Alien: Isolation. At least in terms of the look and feel as that is the vibe I am getting from the trailer that came along with it all. Even if there is more to it than we can see here from D3 Go. Not likely, but I feel like I needed to say that.

What it does look like we will get to do in Alien: Blackout here is move about the station via security cameras and help Amanda Ripley and her crew through a bunch of challenging tasks. It does not look like it will drive the fear or horror to the same extent that we have seen in the past for the franchise, but it will push the story forward in something that could be cannon. At least depending on the outcomes we are able to get in the mobile game here as they all cannot be cannon for Alien. Or can they?

Alien: Blackout — Trailer

Alien: Blackout coming to the App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore on January 24. Pre-order here today!

The terror of Alien is brought to life in Alien: Blackout. Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew. Outsmart the perfect hunter by making perilous choices. Players must rely on the damaged controls of the space station or risk sacrificing crew members to avoid deadly contact, permanently altering the outcome of the game.

Survive seven fear-inducing levels by remotely guiding Amanda Ripley’s crew through increasingly challenging tasks using only the station’s emergency systems. The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station.

Alien: Blackout is a unique fear-inducing horror mobile game experience that will test the inner nerves of both Alien and horror fans alike, where life can end in an instant.

Was this the Alien game you were expecting with all of the teases out there or are you let down a bit? Will you be aiming to just get the story here or will it inspire the same horror we have seen in the past? Could this be building up to another major title in the universe or will it just be some extra cash for now? Let everyone know what is on your mind in the comments. If there is more to Alien: Blackout, we will add it all here. Be sure to stick around.
