Devil May Cry 5 Has Been Announced And Is Not Far Off For Release

During E3 Devil May Cry 5 was announced and we all had a good look at just how this will be the true sequel in the Devil May Cry franchise

Even with all of the early announcements and “leaks” out there for E3 this year there was still space for some great secret announcements to still come and that is how it was for Devil May Cry 5. Yes, it received a full announcement out of seemingly nowhere during the Microsoft media event and Capcom was able to keep it all under wraps until then. I am as surprised as I am excited to see that we will be getting another official Devil May Cry title in the franchise. Sure, we had DmC not too long ago, but this one is a direct sequel in the line of the true numbered versions of the game and not a fun off-shoot to keep the franchise alive. Something fans have been hoping to come for quite some time now and now it will for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

While we do have the announcement and promise that Devil May Cry 5 will be coming Spring of 2019, there is not much more to go on besides a nice sizzle trailer we were given. It definitely looks like they are keeping with the insane and over-the-top fun we have known for the franchise and bringing it all further into the current state of gaming based on the little bit of gameplay we do get here. All of this could be captured in-engine for Devil May Cry 5, but I have a feeling it is split a bit to get us all excited and ready for the next big addition to the franchise. That is exactly what the trailer has done so far for me. Have a look at it now and see if it will do the same for you. I have a feeling it will even if it is on the short side of substance for what the game should hold.

Devil May Cry 5 — E3 2018 Announcement

Several years have passed in Devil May Cry 5 and the threat of demonic power, long since forgotten, has returned to menace the world once again. The demonic invasion begins with the seeds of a “demon tree” taking root in Red Grave City. This hellish incursion attracts the attention of the young demon hunter, Nero, an ally of Dante who now finds himself without his demonic arm, the source of much of his power. As Nero heads to Red Grave City in his motorhome named “Devil May Cry” with his partner Nico, he ruminates on how everything started. The loss of his demonic arm, the demonic invasion, and Dante’s unknown whereabouts. Things must be settled once and for all.

Did you see Devil May Cry 5 coming out of E3 this year or was this a true surprise for you during the event? Do you think that this is all in-engine footage or did Capcom cut the trailer to give us just enough to keep us wanting more? What do you think will actually happen in the game given what we can piece together out the trailer here? Let us all know down in the comments and let the speculation begin. As we can dig up more for Devil May Cry 5, we will place it here on the site. Just be sure to keep coming back to see and hear it all.
